By: Elizabeth CookeReturn to the statley environs of Rutherford Park and the embattled Cavendish family—from the author of The Wild Dark Flowers.
The rain fell softly on the day that she was to be married…Sometimes the longing for the old untouched days at Rutherford would return to her; the innocence of it all, the feeling that England would never change…
Charlotte Cavendish has been dreaming of her old home at Rutherford Park. It is April 1917; she is nineteen years old. And everywhere there is change. The war still rages on the Continent, where her brother fights for the Royal Flying Corps. Her parents’ marriage is in jeopardy, with her mother falling for a charming American in London.
But not all is grim. Charlotte is marrying Preston, the blinded soldier whom she nursed back to health. Her parents couldn’t be happier about this. The young man hails from a well-established and wealthy family in Kent, and he’s solid and respectable. They hope he’s the one to tame their notoriously headstrong daughter.
But as time passes, Charlotte slowly comes to the realization that she is not truly happy. And for a reason she is only just beginning to understand. A reason she dare not reveal to the family—or the world…

Surprisingly good shirt for the price
Fit Type: Regular Fit, Color: White, Size: XX-Large
I’m generally pleased with my purchase. I got a 2XL because the website it would fit my neck. Around the waist it fit similar to Amazon Essentials work shirts (like mechanics use which I find comfortable).
It was snug around the waist when sitting, but I can’t complain because I have a belly. I did find the neck snug when buttoning the top button so it means the neck is 18 or 18.5 and I wear a 19/19.5 to have 1-2 fingers space in the collar.
The shirt is surprisingly thick like Amazon’s work shirts, much thicker than other dress shirts from another brand.
And I am pleased that this shirt has button holes like other Amazon shirts does, all vertical button holes except the last one at the bottom which is horizontal. That feature keeps the shirt from unbuttoning itself during daily movement at the office. A very nice feature! I was a little disappointed in how it was packaged however but I have to press and wash it anyway.

Nice shirt, excellent quality, nice cloth and buttons. No pockets A+
Fit Type: Regular Fit, Color: White, Size: Large
Nice quality shirt cut a little small. The shirt kind of needs to be pressed before wearing however at this price point and quality its a buy!

Comparable to high end mens shops!
Fit Type: Regular Fit, Color: Blue, Size: Large
Beautiful, heavy blue Oxford comparable to upper end mens store at 75% less! Full cut, great for casual wear or sending out for professional starching. Downside, no pocket, but I had mine monogramed wear the pocket would be and it looks like an expensive dress shirt. I bought more (with pockets) in blue & white

Heavier fabric, very durable
Fit Type: Regular Fit, Color: Grey, Size: Large
3 stars. Pretty nice shirt but the fabric is a bit firmer than i like. I iron it when i usually wear it so that it looks half decent since wrinkle resistance is low or poor. I usually have to use a higher setting on the fabric since the material is thick making it alot heavier. Overall great for the lower end cost, anything that beats it would probably be double the price. I work in a cubicle so this works well for me, a simple shirt, with a simple color.
