Durable, lightweight construction

At just 405g, it is considerably lighter than the equivalent student clarinets from brands such as Buffet, Jupiter and Yamaha - the Buffet Prodige comes in at 712g and the Jupiter JCL700 weights 742g! Constructed from a lightweight, durable engineering polymer blended for a high strength-to-weight ratio, the reduced weight of the clarinet ensures good posture for extended practice sessions among even the youngest, smallest players. Suitable for ages 5+, this clarinet is geared towards beginner players and can easily support learners all the way up to grade 5, so the lightness is brilliant for encouraging excellent playing habits.

The Bb-sized mouthpiece features a fast-action ligature, operable with one hand, which is compatible with NUVO Band reeds or traditional cane reeds.

Cleaning your clarinet

Designed to withstand any environment, NUVOBand instruments are 100% waterproof due to the polymer construction and silicone pads. Clean them effortlessly with hot soapy water, or for a quick clean between uses, spray with an appropriate woodwind disinfectant and wipe with a dry cloth. Perfect for shared or loaned instruments in school or band settings.

A sustainable and effective option for your music department

Plastic instruments are a sustainable choice for the classroom.

Manufacturing carbon footprint - Extracting oil to make ABS resin consumes less energy than mining nickel, zinc and copper, which are used to make traditional flutes and clarinets.

Durability and lifespan – Whilst metal instruments often become bent out of shape or dented, ABS keys are tough and relatively elastic which means they can flex but will return accurately to original shape. Nuvo instruments can last a lifetime with affordable spares that are easy to replace yourself, greatly reducing maintenance costs.
