Designed for industrial networks that demand reliability, resilience, and effortless integration, the Transition Networks Unmanaged Hardened Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter is a rugged bridge between copper and fiber. This plug-and-play device converts 10/100/1000BASE-T copper Ethernet to 1000BASE-SX multimode fiber with an SC connector, providing seamless, high-speed connectivity in harsh environments where temperature, dust, and vibration are everyday considerations. Built for long-term service in factories, outdoor cabinets, transportation hubs, and other challenging settings, this media converter delivers consistent performance without the complexity of management interfaces. It’s the ideal solution for updating or expanding network backbones, extending reach between network segments, or creating fault-tolerant links in industrial infrastructures that rely on robust, high-bandwidth connections.

  • Plug-and-play copper-to-fiber conversion: This unmanaged media converter takes 10/100/1000BASE-T copper Ethernet and translates it to 1000BASE-SX multimode fiber with an SC connector. It provides a seamless, transparent bridge between devices such as switches, routers, and industrial controllers, enabling reliable gigabit performance across disparate media without requiring configuration or software management. The design emphasizes simplicity for rapid deployments and minimizes downtime on critical networks.
  • Industrial-grade rugged design with extended temperature range: The hardened enclosure is engineered for harsh environments, with a focus on durability, EMI tolerance, and long-term reliability. The device is built to operate in extended temperature conditions, typically suitable for environments ranging from extreme cold to hot industrial floors, outdoor cabinets, and other locations where standard consumer equipment would struggle. This resilience helps maintain connectivity in manufacturing lines, mining facilities, and transportation systems where uptime matters most.
  • Unmanaged, cost-efficient performance: As a true unmanaged media converter, it requires no software or firmware configuration. You simply connect the copper device to the RJ-45 port and the fiber link to the SC multimode fiber, power it up, and the link is ready. This streamlined approach reduces total cost of ownership, minimizes maintenance, and supports straightforward upgrades, allowing IT and operations teams to deploy reliable fiber extensions quickly without specialized training.
  • User-friendly diagnostics with clear indicators: Front-panel LEDs provide at-a-glance status for power, copper link, fiber link, and activity. In busy industrial environments, these indicators simplify field troubleshooting and help technicians verify that links are established and data is flowing as intended. The LED feedback accelerates commissioning, ongoing monitoring, and rapid fault isolation, enhancing overall network reliability.
  • Compact, adaptable footprint for space-constrained installations: The compact form factor is well-suited for control panels, equipment racks, and cabinet interiors where space is at a premium. Its rugged construction, combined with a streamlined interface set, makes it easy to install in tight spaces along critical fiber backbones or in distributed network nodes, supporting scalable deployments across small to large industrial sites.

How to install Transition Networks Unmanaged Hardened Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter

Installing this unmanaged hardened media converter is a straightforward, tool-free process designed for quick deployment in industrial environments. Follow these steps to ensure a reliable, plug-and-play connection between copper and fiber networks:

  • Step 1: Power down the connected devices to prevent electrical surges during installation and to protect sensitive equipment in industrial settings.
  • Step 2: Connect the copper device (such as a switch or router) to the RJ-45 10/100/1000BASE-T port on the media converter using a quality Category 5e/6 Ethernet patch cord. Ensure the copper device is configured to operate at the desired speed and duplex settings as required by your network design.
  • Step 3: Attach the multimode fiber link to the SC fiber port on the media converter using a compliant MMF fiber patch cable that matches your network distance and performance goals. Confirm that the fiber type and connector are compatible with the SX interface and that the link is clean and free of debris.
  • Step 4: Supply power to the media converter with the external power supply and connect it to a stable DC source appropriate for your installation. Verify that the power indicator illuminates, confirming the device is energized and ready.
  • Step 5: Power on the connected copper and fiber devices. Observe the front-panel LEDs to verify copper and fiber link status as well as data activity. A solid link LED with blinking activity on the copper and fiber sides indicates a healthy Ethernet bridge between the two media types.
  • Step 6: Conduct a basic connectivity test by transferring traffic across the copper-to-fiber link to confirm throughput and latency meet your requirements. Since this is an unmanaged converter, no configuration changes are typically needed; ensure the upstream and downstream devices are correctly configured to handle the same VLANs or QoS policies if applicable.

Disappointed
Color: S6-muti-color
These were great for about 20 minutes then they stopped squeaking...we have 2 left that I have saved but the other 4 do not squeak anymore...disappointed as my dog loves to squeak things...would not buy these again...My dog is only an 8lb dog too...but he can still play with the balls without the squeak...

Great Value for a ball my dog loves!
Color: S6-muti-color
I wish these ball were in the subscription program! My dog gets sooo excited by the new ball, but her interest in things lasts for a few days. She kills the squeak within 11minutes, but the squeaker stays in place rather than becoming a chocking or swallow hazard, and she still loves to chew it. Next, we must throw the ball approximately 723 times the first day, possibly 496 times on day 2, and just 3- 4 on day 3, at which point she will chase the ball before hollering "it's over here if you need it," while she checks on the chipmunk den. We currently have 17 of these balls in our yard (because we have given several leftovers to a less discriminating doodle next door). These balls hold up really well, get her extremely active for the first couple of days, and are a much cheaper than doggie daycare (after an active morning with a new ball, she is happy to chew on it and sleep much of the day). I always have these on hand!

Pieces chewed off
Color: white & green
My Aussiedoodle loves it. I throw it down the hallway, it bounces crazy, and he chases it. The only complaint is that he can't chew much of the ball part. So now I have to have it put away and brought out for special playtime.

Hyper Pet Tennis Balls for Dogs: Because Every Dog Deserves to Play Fetch Like a Pro
Color: Green, Size: Regular 2.5" - 12 Pack
If your dog had a bucket list, fetching tennis balls would probably be near the top. And if that’s the case, then the Hyper Pet Tennis Balls are their VIP ticket to Fetch World. These little balls of joy are the real deal, perfect for small breeds that are living their best life chasing after something that probably doesn’t need to be chased but is just so throwable. The 12-pack means you can never lose a ball again...unless, of course, it gets lost in a mysterious “dog dimension” where all the socks go. These 2.5-inch tennis balls are the right size for those dogs that aren’t quite large enough to play with the big leagues. Think of them as the perfectly sized appetizer for the full-on Fetch Feast. Plus, they’re made from non-toxic material, so your pup can gnaw on them all day without worrying about a tummy ache (unless they’re overzealous and gobble up the whole ball...don’t worry, I won’t judge). If your dog doesn’t love fetch yet, they will after these balls come into their life. They’re designed to be durable enough for constant chomping while still offering that classic “bounce, roll, and fetch” action that gets dogs going. Pros: • 12 balls = endless fetch sessions (until the dog gets tired, but let’s be honest, that’s probably never). • Perfect size for small breeds—no choking hazards, just good ol’ fun. • Non-toxic materials for guilt-free playtime. • They squeak. And we all know that squeak is like doggy kryptonite. • Durability means no more fetching balls that break after three tosses (we’ve all been there). Cons: • They might not hold up as well with very heavy chewers (but don’t worry, your dog won’t know the difference until they’ve already swallowed half of one). • They don’t come in tennis-ball-flavor. If they did, I think we’d all be out of a job. If you’re looking to upgrade your dog’s fetch game (or just keep them entertained while you catch up on your own Netflix binging), these Hyper Pet Tennis Balls are a solid choice. Plus, your dog will be too busy fetching to judge your questionable snack choices.
