The Cisco H10GB-CU1M SFP+ Module is the essential solution for high-speed connectivity in data centers and enterprise networks. Designed for reliable performance, this 1-meter copper twinax Direct Attach Cable (DAC) links SFP+ ports with precision, delivering seamless data transfer between switches, servers, and storage devices. Built to optimize your network’s latency, efficiency, and space, the H10GB-CU1M is a practical choice for rack-dense environments where every inch and every millisecond counts.

  • 10 Gbps performance: Provides full 10GBASE-CU capability for high-bandwidth workloads, ensuring fast, consistent data transfer between devices.
  • Copper twinax direct attach: A compact, cost-effective DAC solution that minimizes rack cabling complexity while delivering stable, low-latency links.
  • 1-meter length (3.28 ft): Optimized for data center row-to-rack deployments where compact cabling reduces clutter and improves airflow and cable management.
  • Cisco-validated compatibility: Specifically designed for Cisco networking gear, delivering plug-and-play functionality on compatible Catalyst, Nexus, and other Cisco devices.
  • Easy, hot-plug deployment: Designed for straightforward installation with minimal downtime, enabling quick scale-outs and maintenance without substantial network disruption.

Technical Details of Cisco H10GB-CU1M SFP+ Module

  • Type: Passive Direct Attach Copper (DAC) cable for SFP+ interfaces
  • Data rate: Up to 10 Gbps (10GBASE-CU)
  • Cable type: Copper Twinax Direct Attach Cable
  • Length: 1 meter (3.28 feet)
  • Connectors: SFP+ on both ends
  • Operating temperature: Typically 0 to 70°C, suitable for standard data center environments
  • Hot-swappable: Yes, designed for easy replacement and upgrades without powering down connected devices
  • Compatibility: Optimized for Cisco devices and environments; cross-compatibility with non-Cisco equipment is not guaranteed and should be tested in advance

How to install Cisco H10GB-CU1M SFP+ Module

  • Prepare the devices: Confirm that both networking devices have available SFP+ ports and verify that they support copper DAC cables of this length for your specific model and software version.
  • Power considerations: If your equipment supports hot-swapping, installation can be performed with the system powered on. If hot-swapping is not supported on a particular device, power down the affected device before installation.
  • Remove protective caps: Take off any protective dust caps from both SFP+ ports to ensure a clean connection and minimize debris intrusion.
  • Insert the module: Align the SFP+ connector with the port and gently push straight in until you hear or feel a click indicating a secure connection. Do not apply side pressure or attempt to bend the connector.
  • Attach the cable: Connect the 1-meter copper twinax DAC to the SFP+ ports on both devices, ensuring the cables are not twisted or sharply bent and that the connectors are fully seated.
  • Verify link status: Power up (or verify in a powered-on system) and check the port LEDs or management interface for a link indication. Run basic connectivity tests (pings, throughput tests) to confirm a stable 10 Gbps link.
  • Document and monitor: Record the installation details (port numbers, device models, software version) and monitor performance as part of routine network health checks.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What is the Cisco H10GB-CU1M SFP+ Module? A: It is a 1-meter copper twinax Direct Attach Cable (DAC) with SFP+ connectors designed to deliver 10 Gbps between Cisco devices for high-speed data center connectivity.
  • Q: Is the H10GB-CU1M hot-swappable? A: Yes. The DAC module is designed for hot-swapping in compatible Cisco devices, enabling quick upgrades and replacements without shutting down equipment.
  • Q: What devices are compatible with this module? A: The H10GB-CU1M is optimized for Cisco switches, routers, and other Cisco SFP+–capable devices. While some non-Cisco hardware may recognize the module, Cisco recommends confirming compatibility with your vendor before use.
  • Q: What is the length and when should I use a 1 m DAC? A: The cable length is 1 meter (3.28 ft). Use a 1 m DAC in rack-dense deployments where the distance between devices is short and cable routing benefits from a compact, low-latency copper link.
  • Q: Do I need drivers or additional configuration for this DAC? A: No, DAC cables like the H10GB-CU1M are typically plug-and-play and do not require separate drivers. Ensure your devices’ firmware/software supports direct-attach copper DAC modules and that the transceiver is enabled in the device’s management interface.

A must read for Kylo fans
Format: Kindle
I'm so sad this was only about 100 pages. This gave clarity to the choppy movie origin story of Kylo Ren while filling some major movie plot holes. Angsty, heart wrenching and dark -- the perfect intro for our favorite emo space boy. The art style was really great without being too gory. Adam Driver fans will also be pretty pleased with the likeness (it's not exact, but still good).

Really good read, and leaves questions
Format: Paperback
Nice to see the Ben Solo story flushed out more than what was shown in The Last Jedi and The Rise Of Skywalker. A good job also of not explaining everything. Ben mentions something about what Skywalker did to Snoke, and then there's the Emperor himself speaking to Ben in his mind, which makes one wonder, if even the Emperor was his own voice in Ben's head, why didn't Kylo recognize him in The Rise Of Skywalker. Plenty of things left to really expand upon this very good story.
