The Original EZ-RJ45 CAT5e Connector from Platinum Tools is built to simplify twisted pair terminations for professional installers. Designed for quick, reliable connections, these connectors let you insert the wires through the connector and out the front, enabling immediate visual verification of the correct wiring order before you finalize the termination. With an emphasis on streamlined workflows and consistent electrical performance, this bulk package delivers a high-volume solution without compromising quality. Whether you’re wiring a data center backbone, outfitting a home network, or performing on-site repairs, these EZ-RJ45 connectors are engineered to speed production, reduce rework, and help you achieve repeatable results project after project.

  • Through-wire insertion for instant verification: Wires feed straight through the connector and exit at the front, allowing technicians to confirm proper pairing and order before crimping. This design minimizes miswires and helps ensure accurate terminations on every run.
  • Fast, dependable terminations: The EZ-RJ45 system is purpose-built to simplify CAT5/5e terminations, reducing setup time and eliminating the guesswork that can slow down installations in tight spaces or long cable runs.
  • CAT5/5e performance you can trust: Optimized electrical characteristics provide solid signal integrity in typical Ethernet installations, supporting reliable data transmission across communications, office networks, and small data centers.
  • Bulk value pack for pros and contractors: This pack includes 500 connectors (minimum), delivering a cost-effective solution for large projects, renovations, or service fleets where frequent terminations are required.
  • Durable construction and compatibility: Built with a rugged, field-ready design that works with standard CAT5/5e cables and common crimp tools, making it a dependable choice for professional technicians who demand consistency and quality in bulk.

Technical Details of Platinum Tools EZ-RJ45 CAT5/5e Connectors, Bulk Package, 500 Pc. Min.

How to install Platinum Tools EZ-RJ45 CAT5/5e Connectors

  • Step 1: Prepare the cable by cutting to length and stripping back the outer jacket to expose the twisted pairs. Maintain the correct pair order and trim each conductor to the recommended length for a clean, reliable termination.
  • Step 2: Untwist the wire pairs just enough to align them in the correct order for CAT5/5e termination. Flatten and straighten each conductor to reduce nicks and ensure consistent insertion into the connector channels.
  • Step 3: Insert the wires through the rear of the EZ-RJ45 connector, feeding them straight into the color-coded channels until the conductors emerge from the front in the exact order required by the wiring standard (T568A or T568B). Confirm the order visually as you feed.
  • Step 4: Seat the connector fully and use a compatible crimping tool to crimp the connector onto the cable jacket. Apply firm, even pressure to ensure a secure mechanical and electrical connection while maintaining conductor alignment.
  • Step 5: Perform a quick pinout test or continuity check to verify that each conductor is aligned with its intended position and that there are no short circuits or open connections. If the test passes, the termination is complete and ready for use.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What is the EZ-RJ45 design? A: The EZ-RJ45 design is a termination approach that allows wires to be inserted through the connector and out the front, enabling easy verification of wiring order before crimping for high-assurance terminations.
  • Q: Are these connectors compatible with CAT5 and CAT5e cables? A: Yes. These connectors are specifically intended for CAT5 and CAT5e twisted-pair cables, delivering reliable performance for standard Ethernet networking.
  • Q: How many connectors come in the bulk package? A: Each bulk package contains 500 connectors minimum, designed for bulk installations and service fleets.
  • Q: Do I need a special tool to install EZ-RJ45 connectors? A: A standard RJ45 crimping tool designed for CAT5/5e terminations is typically used. The connector's design helps ensure proper seating and reliable contact formation when paired with an appropriate crimp tool.
  • Q: Can I reuse an EZ-RJ45 connector if I miswire a termination? A: Rewiring usually requires re-stripping and re-terminating. The through-wire insertion feature helps minimize miswires, but if a mistake occurs, re-terminating with a fresh connector is recommended for best results.
  • Q: Is the bulk pack suitable for data centers or only for home installations? A: The bulk 500-piece pack is well-suited for professional installers, contractors, and data centers that require rapid, repeatable CAT5/5e terminations across multiple cabling runs.

Pretty Nice
Color: E-Blackpro 4, Color: E-Blackpro 4
I’m not sure why the promotional photos show these hooks with the bent ends pointing down. To me that makes no sense, as it seems they are using them upside down. It makes more sense to me to have the bent ends point up, so the items being stored do not slide off. Additionally, the shorter bent hooks make no sent to have on the top, as they would limit how far back you could place a shovel or other tool. When using the hooks with the bent ends pointing up, you can place your lighter bulkier items on the long hooks, but then use the short hooks for those heavier items (if they fit), as that gets them closer to the magnets and will have less leverage to make the magnetic hooks fall free from the metal they are trying to be attracted to. In my example photos, you can see how the shorter hooks do not obstruct the shovels and other tools from being stored properly and the bent ends then also help to prevent the tools from sliding off the hook. Overall, I am very happy with the hooks. I’ve had a fondness for magnets since I was a kid, so I have a very realistic expectation of the limits of magnets and these magnetic hooks perform as well as I would expect.

Strong magnetic hook with only one small con
Color: E-Blackpro 4
I got the four-pack of magnetic hooks and the magnets are indeed strong. You have to reasonable with how much weight you hang off of these though! The longer hooks help with holding multiple items. I've used them for shovels and rakes and they hold up just fine. The only slight con is that I wish the ends of the hooks curled up instead of down to keep items from sliding off as safety precaution. You can just turn the hook upside down but then the shorter hooks are at the bottom. They work for what I need them and can hold power tools as well. The hooks are sturdy and the magnet power is impressive.

Magnets are strong
Color: E-Blackpro 4
Arrived fast. Magnets are really strong on my husbands metal peg board in the garage outside. The only draw back, the rings are slightly long for a work bench area. Wish they were 3-4''.

Happy with them
I'm putting up shelves around my bed for my books, and so far, the first shelf is holding nicely with these brackets. They seem pretty sturdy and were easy to install with the screws and anchors that came with it. I measured out where i wanted the brackets on the board and then screwed them to it. I then held it against the wall and used a level to make sure it was level, then put a screw in the middle bracket to hold it level while i marked the rest of the screw holes. I did this all by myself, but it would've been a lot easier to do with two people. I plan to buy more and put up more shelves
