Unlock enterprise-grade data protection with a scalable, future-ready license designed for installations and production environments. The Veeam Foundation Capacity Pack delivers a four-year subscription that scales in 1 TB increments, paired with around-the-clock production support to safeguard your most critical data workloads. Built for predictable budgeting and seamless growth, this capacity-based solution keeps your backup, replication, and disaster-recovery capabilities resilient in the face of growing data volumes. With upfront billing for renewals and a clear path to expand capacity as your needs evolve, you gain peace of mind knowing your data protection platform remains robust, compliant, and ready to respond 24/7.

  • Scalable, capacity-based protection for growth: The Capacity Pack is designed to grow with your business. Add 1 TB increments to your license to align protection capacity with data growth, without reconfiguring your entire backup strategy. This approach preserves your existing backup jobs and recovery workflows while expanding capacity to meet expanding datasets, improving scalability without sacrificing performance or reliability. By tying licensing to usable capacity rather than a fixed point count, you can budget with confidence as your data footprint expands across on-premises, hybrid, and multi-cloud environments.
  • Four-year license horizon with upfront renewal billing: Benefit from a long-term licensing arrangement that stabilizes spend and reduces renewal friction. The four-year term is paired with upfront renewal billing, enabling financial planning and budgeting for the entire lifecycle of the deployment. This arrangement minimizes interruption and ensures continuous access to updates, security improvements, and production-ready features, so your protection stack stays current without unexpected cost spikes.
  • 24/7 Production support for continuous protection: This Foundation Capacity Pack includes round-the-clock production support, ensuring expert assistance when you need it most. In mission-critical environments, timely guidance and rapid issue resolution are essential to maintain RPO/RTO targets. With 24/7 coverage, you can recover faster from failures, mitigate downtime, and safeguard business continuity, even during off-hours or peak operational periods.
  • Installations and production environments tuned for reliability: The pack is purpose-built for installations plus production workloads, delivering robust backup, replication, and restore capabilities. Expect consistent performance across backup windows, reduced job failures, and streamlined DR testing. Whether safeguarding virtual machines, physical servers, or cloud-based assets, the capacity-based licensing supports a wide range of workloads with industry-leading recovery options and ransomware protection features.
  • Predictable licensing at the capacity level you need: The 1 TB increment model provides clear, predictable scaling. As data volumes grow, you simply add another increment to expand capacity without disrupting existing backup plans. This clarity helps IT teams forecast costs, align with governance requirements, and maintain a resilient protection posture across all layers of the IT stack, from endpoints to the data center and cloud repositories.

How to Install Veeam Foundation Capacity Pack

  • Prepare your environment: Confirm that your target installations meet the prerequisites for Veeam backup and replication, including compatible hypervisors, storage configurations, and network readiness. Ensure you have active support coverage and the necessary licensing details for the Capacity Pack, including your 1 TB increment plan and renewal schedule.
  • Activate the license: Access the Veeam licensing portal or your authorized reseller portal to apply the Capacity Pack license. Input the appropriate SKU or activation key that corresponds to your 1 TB increment and four-year term. Complete any required verification steps to enable production protection across your installations and workloads.

Map repositories to protected instances, define retention policies, and align with recovery objectives to maximize efficiency and minimize restore times.
  • Configure protection for production workloads: Set up backup jobs, replication tasks, and disaster recovery plans to run in alignment with your business continuity requirements. Enable 24/7 protection where applicable, including near-continuous data capture, instant recovery options, and verification procedures to ensure data integrity.
  • Validate and monitor: Run test restores and DR drills to validate RPOs and RTOs. Monitor job success rates, storage utilization, and capacity growth across the 1 TB increments. Regularly review alerts, dashboards, and reports to maintain ongoing protection and quickly address any anomalies or performance bottlenecks.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: What does the four-year license with 1 TB increments cover?

A: The four-year license provides ongoing access to Veeam backup, replication, and recovery capabilities for installations and production environments. Capacity is measured in 1 TB increments, allowing you to scale protection as data grows, with 24/7 production support and upfront renewal billing to simplify budgeting and renewal planning.

  • Q: Is 24/7 production support included with the Capacity Pack?

A: Yes. The package includes round-the-clock production support to assist with critical workloads, rapid issue resolution, and guidance during migrations, DR testing, and operational incidents. This ensures protection remains active and reliable around the clock.

  • Q: Can I start with a smaller capacity and add increments later?

A: Absolutely. The capacity model is designed for incremental growth. Begin with a suitable 1 TB increment and add additional increments as data volumes increase, preserving existing configurations and protection policies while expanding capacity.

  • Q: How does upfront renewal billing affect budgeting?

A: Upfront renewal billing consolidates costs for the entire four-year term, reducing ongoing administrative overhead and providing predictable expenditure. It helps align IT budgeting with long-term protection needs and minimizes renewal interruptions.

  • Q: What environments does this pack protect?

A: The Foundation Capacity Pack is intended for installations plus production environments, delivering protection across on-premises, hybrid, and certain cloud-backed workloads. It supports a broad range of data sources and recovery scenarios to meet typical enterprise requirements.

Find Out Who Was the Legal Secretary
Format: Hardcover
I ordered this book after watching Nuremberg with Michael Shannon and Russell Crowe because I wanted to find out who was the woman accompanying Justice Jackson to Germany. Yes, that was not his wife, it was his legal secretary, Elsie Douglas. This book is the only source I could find that goes into any detail about their relationship. What it provides is nowhere near salacious, because it is evident that Jackson took his secrets to the grave. What details it does provide about the evident love triangle that existed in Jackson's life for many years is quite sufficient to explain the events of Nuremberg.

Well written. Factual sloppiness.
Format: Hardcover
Good insight into Jackson’s approach to the law. Thoroughly researched. Well written. However, Professor White made two egregious factual errors, both of which are an indication of sloppiness on his part, as well as that of his editors and peer reviewers. First, he refers to the World War 2 Chief of Naval Operations as the Secretary of the Navy. Second he states that Los Alamos National Laboratory is in California.

Judging Jackson
Format: Hardcover
Readers interested in FDR's era, the post-war Nuremberg Trial, and/or such important U.S. Supreme Court events as the Rosenberg spy case and Brown v. Board of Education will enjoy this well-researched book. Illuminating insights as to the characters of his fellow members of the High Court, especially Justices Black and Douglas, are also present. Of special interest in today's world is Justice Jackson's thinking on the limits of Executive Power in terms of war powers and foreign relations. I do think non-lawyers will be less interested when the author, a legal scholar, sometime goes into depth exploring aspects of Justice Jackson's thoughts on opaque technical areas, such as diversity jurisdiction under the constitution. And, I fail to see the need to spend much time on Justice Black's two children, as is done in chapter two "Family Matters." Why do I need to know that his daughter was a mediocre student in college or details about her early love life? Professor White clearly admires Robert H. Jackson as a fine advocate, brilliant writer, and independent judge, while noting some of his flaws. All in all, a good biography of an important American.
