More of a good thing is always better, especially when it comes to Spyderco’s incredibly popular “CruCarta” themed knives. In this case, “more” takes the form of the Native Chief™—an extended version of the popular Native® 5. Faithfully offering all the same qualities as its progenitor, but in a longer, even more capable format, this expression of the Native Chief showcases a full-flat-ground, satin-finished blade precision machined from CPM® CRU-WEAR® tool steel. The blade is housed in a handle constructed with smooth brown canvas Micarta® scales, a high-strength back lock mechanism, a stainless steel backspacer, and a fully configurable four-position pocket clip. A truly impressive example of this “old-school” pairing of materials, this Native Chief commands attention.
Notes
This model, like the other backlock Native models, has no liners. That said, it still feels very rigid in hand with plenty of heft, imho. Also, the color will be very pale when new and will patina nicely over time, or you can darken the scales with mineral oil or some kind of wax - if you ask, I'll see if I have any Wicked Wax to give you for free.

Incredible
1 year update: I have been using this keyboard daily at work for almost one year and my 5 star review stands. Upon receiving the keyboard I charged it before use, and since then I have not charged it at all and it is still somehow at 75% battery!! I turn it off at night when I’m done.
One of the function keys broke off in a way where I can’t reattach it, but I reached out to customer support and they sent me a free replacement keyboard. Great customer service and warranty!
Original review: I love this keyboard. I am a grant writer so I write and edit all day. It has really leveled up my typing experience and has made work much more comfortable. It puts my hands in a natural position so my wrists no longer bend at odd angles. I adapted to the split key design in minutes. The keys have an excellent feel and sound to them and the wrist pad feels like a soft cloud. I’ve had no connectivity issues and so far the battery has been stellar. It also has rubber grippers on the bottom so it stays firmly in place on my desk and doesn’t move around like my old keyboard did. I went for this one because I didn’t want to spend $100+ on a keyboard and I’m really impressed with the quality.

OK, but .....
It is an ok keyboard with an annoying flaw. As other reviewers have observed, the placement of the Number Lock key makes it easy to trip that key by error. it is distracting to have to break your train of thought to fix the problem.

Great value for quality design
Super sturdy and sleek. It is exactly what I needed. It is small enough to move around when I move my laptop. I use it on a slide out from my desk so that I can work while I watch TV. It also keeps my laptop cool with airflow on all sides. It couldn't be simpler.

A great laptop stand
At first, I was skeptical of the price, especially when I opened up the box and what I was presented with was nothing but a thick chunk of shaped metal. However, now that I've been using this for a bit of time, I can attest to it's quality:
1. This thing is STURDY. One of my children is a curious (read: nosy) four year old who loves to inspect anything she can get her hands on. No amount of her typing, tugging, pulling or otherwise manipulation of the work laptop upon this stand has budged it in the slightest. Unless you are (an adult) intentionally trying to remove the laptop from the stand, your computer is very stable.
2. It's actually great for hiding wires. It has a hole in the back for tunneling wires towards/away from the computer, and this stand being the hunk of metal that it is, does a nice job obscuring such wires, which gives the stand a nice, clean look on a desk with a little bit of care. For some people, this matters a lot, which gives this stand an edge over the more architecturally sparse stands on Amazon.
3. The space between the "legs" of the stand and the "floor" where your computer rests is a great place to hide your phone while getting work done. I put mine on a charger and hide my phone there, which is really nice for limiting any tendencies to check my phone when I have a lull in my attention span. Since you can't see the phone when it rests there, but you can still hear it, I found myself pleasantly surprised that this stand could enable better productivity from my bad habits.
It's a good stand and it's worth the money, especially if you have dual monitors and/or you're trying to improve the ergonomics of your workspace.

Timeless and sturdy!
Such a huge fan of this company. We've bought multiple stands and loved them. I had the older more silver ones previously but got the black one for my newer Mac and it's awesome. The design is perfect. and it's helpful not just for the function of holding the stand, but it's helping keep the laptop cool by drawing heat away and also airflow/etc.
I had a guy in the office the other day come ask me if he could swap me for the black one because he loved it so much. lol.
Anyway, great stands. We've been buying from this company for almost 10 years. Solid. They look as new today as they did when we bought the first one.
