The DIS-200G-12S is a rugged, Layer 2 industrial managed switch engineered to deliver reliable, high-performance networking in harsh environments. With a total of 12 ports—10x 10/100/1000BASE-T copper ports and 2 SFP fiber uplink slots—this compact switch is a versatile backbone for surveillance systems, industrial automation, and outdoor deployments where resilience matters. Built to withstand the rigors of outdoor and industrial settings, the DIS-200G-12S blends robust physical design with advanced management features so you can deploy secure, scalable networks without compromising uptime or performance.

  • Industrial-grade reliability: Engineered for harsh environments, the DIS-200G-12S features a sturdy metal housing and rugged construction designed to endure vibration, dust, and temperature fluctuations common in outdoor and industrial sites, ensuring continuous operation under demanding conditions.
  • Flexible 12-port configuration: 10 copper 10/100/1000BASE-T ports provide easy, automatic compatibility with existing Ethernet devices, while 2 SFP fiber uplink ports offer flexible, high-speed fiber connectivity for long-distance links and campus-style deployments.
  • Layer 2 management with enterprise features: Supports essential Layer 2 switching functions such as VLANs, Quality of Service (QoS), link aggregation, storm control, and port security, enabling you to segment traffic, prioritize video streams, and safeguard the network from misconfigurations or attacks.
  • Comprehensive management options: Manage the switch via a user-friendly web GUI, command-line interface (CLI), or SNMP, giving network administrators the control they need whether they are onsite or remote. Password protection and access controls help secure management access.
  • Versatile installation and deployment: The DIS-200G-12S supports flexible mounting options for industrial racks, enclosures, or wall-mount setups, along with power input that accommodates typical industrial power rails, making it easy to integrate into existing infrastructure.

How to install D-Link DIS-200G-12S

Setting up the DIS-200G-12S is designed to be straightforward, with installation steps that fit both new network builds and upgrades to existing surveillance or industrial networks. Follow these practical steps to get your switch up and running quickly while ensuring stable performance and security.

1) Plan placements and mounting: Choose a secure, vibration-free location near your core devices and power source. Use the switch’s DIN-rail or wall-mount options to optimize airflow and accessibility. Proper mounting helps prevent accidental changes and ensures reliable operation in outdoor enclosures or equipment rooms.

2) Prepare the network connections: Connect 10 of your devices or access points to the 10/100/1000BASE-T copper ports using standard Ethernet cables. If you need longer distances or fiber connectivity, insert the appropriate fiber modules into the two SFP slots and connect uplinks or downstream devices via fiber to achieve higher bandwidth and extended reach.

3) Apply power and verify status: Provide the appropriate power input for your site (as specified by your deployment). After powering up, verify that indicator LEDs on each port show link activity and that the device itself powers on normally. This step confirms physical connectivity and basic health of the switch.

4) Access the management interface: Use a computer connected to the same network to access the DIS-200G-12S management interface via its IP address (as assigned by DHCP or a static address you configure). Begin with a secure administrative account, then explore the dashboard to verify uptime, port status, and VLANs.

5) Configure essential network policies: Create VLANs to segment traffic (for example, separating surveillance streams from office traffic), configure QoS to prioritize critical video or control data, and set up link aggregation if you need higher capacity between switches or to a core router. Enable port security and access controls to protect against unauthorized devices. Save the configuration and back up the running-config for disaster recovery.

6) Verify performance and monitor: Test connectivity between critical devices, confirm that QoS policies are correctly prioritizing traffic, and monitor network health using the SNMP tools or the web GUI. Make any fine-tuning adjustments to QoS, VLAN tagging, or storm control to optimize performance for your specific environment.

7) Regular maintenance and updates: Keep the switch firmware up to date with the latest stabilizations and features provided by D-Link. Schedule periodic health checks and review security settings to maintain robust defense against evolving threats in industrial networks.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.

Madison Deserved Better
Format: Kindle
Madison was a beta...except she wasn't any longer. She was a late presenting Omega. And she was struggling. She was tall and thin, not tiny and curvy. She was opinionated. She was everything an Omega was not. After suffering through her first heat, her friends took her to Ardor, a club where Omegas came to safely find Alphas. She's not expecting much but then she connects with a sexy beta. And when she meets his Alphas, they set her body on fire. Maybe, she's found her no-strings-attached heat pack. Maybe, she's found something more. I could not connect with the characters in this book, so their story never resonated with me. And there was no love story; there was sex. Grey made it clear from the beginning that he had a true love and it was his beta boy, Rian. He went so far as to reassure Rian “Say the word, I’ll never touch her again. Lucas can put the babies in her. I only need you, beta boy”. So, Madison was there for babies, no emotions needed. Nice. No, thank you. I want the Omega to be the center of their world, not an incubator. Lucas and Rian weren't any better. After her heat, they let her leave. Not one of them made her feel valued. No one gave her a reason to stay or even offered a cuddle. And the sex didn't even come across as mind-blowing. Madison deserved better.
