High-speed Auto Focus

SIGMA’s AF motor system employs a stepping motor which drives a faster, smoother and more precise autofocus for a smoother shooting experience. Paired with a mirrorless camera, the lens supports face/eye detection AF for more accurate focusing of the subject – beneficial for recording fluent videos.

Sharpness Across the Frame

The optical construction of the Sigma 65mm lens consists of 15 elements in 11 groups, including five SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements and one aspherical glass element. SIGMA has incorporated the latest high refractive index glass, which corrects optical aberrations so optimum image quality is consistently reached. Even at the maximum F1.4 aperture, images are sharp with no evidence of colour bleeding.

SIGMA’s Super Multi-Layer Coating has been incorporated to minimise ghosting and flare when working with strong light sources such as back lighting. This ensures photographers can consistently produce sharp, high-contrast images across the frame.

Low Light Conditions and Smooth Blur

The SIGMA 85mm lens has a bright F1.4 aperture which is ideal for shooting in low light conditions, as well as controlling depth of field. The 11-blade rounded diaphragm allows the user to create a pleasing blur in out of focus areas (bokeh).
