Users can select various modes, set timers and pauses, and even activate booster mode during heavy parasite outbreaks. It is recommended to pair the reeflexUV+e with your filter to effectively reduce small organisms (germs, algae spores, etc.) in your aquarium.

Innovative technology for crystal-clear water and healthy fish

In a UV clarifier (also known as a UV sterilizer), aquarium water is passed in a thin layer past a UV-C lamp (burner). The UV-C rays penetrate the water, eliminating germs, algae spores, and other tiny organisms. While conventional systems only irradiate from one side, EHEIM incorporates a reflector to allow the radiation to be mirrored and penetrate the water from multiple angles. This design enhances the efficiency of the reeflexUV+e, which utilizes the patented EHEIM reflector technology.

Additionally, the EHEIM reeflexUV+e features a straightforward water conduction system, allowing water to flow directly around the burner without detours, thereby preventing performance loss. The AUTO-OFF function provides extra safety, as the reeflexUV+e will instantly and automatically turn off when the unit is opened.

The EHEIM reeflexUV+e can be integrated with other EHEIM Digital family products (e.g., lighting) and is easily controlled via WLAN-enabled devices (smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.). The operation is intuitive and user-friendly.

There are three distinct modes available: "constant," "daily cycle," and "smart coupling." Users can customize burning duration, timing, pauses, and more. The booster mode is specifically designed for acute parasite infestations, and notifications are sent via email when it's time to replace the lamp.

It’s important to note that bacterial concentrations in aquariums tend to be higher than in natural waters due to the smaller volume of water. It is crucial to reduce this concentration to a natural level, but completely germ-free water is neither achievable nor advisable. The UV clarifier captures only those germs that are freely floating in the water, sparing the bound purification bacteria in the filter and substrate.

UV clarification effectively removes water turbidity caused by bacteria or floating algae. Essentially, it curbs algae growth by destroying spores. Overall, UV clarifiers promote healthier fish by decreasing the risk of infection, and they are particularly recommended for rearing tanks where young fish and eggs are vulnerable to harmful pathogens.
