The ALIEN V-SYSTEM 8 Pot 4 Row Kit offers four flexible layout options for header and pump placement to suit your unique grow space. Whether you prefer positioning the header and pump outside your grow tent or room, or need a more compact setup, this system is designed to adapt.
With advanced components and a modular configuration, this recirculating deep water culture system is easy to assemble and configure. Grow up to 8 plants with maximum efficiency and control using the ALIEN V-SYSTEM—engineered for high-performance results in any environment.
THE ULTIMATE RECIRCULATING DEEP WATER CULTURE SYSTEM
Step into the next generation of hydroponics with the cutting-edge V-SYSTEM™. Engineered to grow massive plants with game-changing innovation, this powerful RDWC system delivers unmatched oxygenation and yield potential—developed over years of research to create the healthiest root zones possible.
Breaking industry norms, the V-SYSTEM™ eliminates the need for air pumps by using advanced Venturi valve technology to oxygenate the nutrient solution—no more clogged airstones, just simple and effective performance.
Its precision-engineered design creates a whirlpool vortex inside each pot, circulating and oxygenating the full volume of nutrient solution—not just around a single airstone. Your plant roots receive optimal oxygen and nutrients, no matter where they grow in the pot.
With ultra-wide 5" customizable return-flow tubing, root blockages are minimized, while the Vortex pump ensures a powerful, even flow—directly injecting each pot with fresh nutrients from the header. Whether you're running 4 pots or 20, every plant receives identical feeding, promoting uniform growth. Plus, direct injection delivers faster pH and nutrient adjustments than standard RDWC setups.
Each 15-gallon / 58-liter pot is built for explosive root growth, supporting enormous plants and record-breaking yields. A sloped base ensures total drainage, so your system always runs on clean, fresh water.
Unlike traditional systems, the JET-STREAM® Vortex pump is mounted outside the header and air-cooled to reduce water temperatures—lowering the risk of root disease and making pump maintenance a breeze.
Join the hydroponic revolution with the V-SYSTEM™ and experience easier, faster, and bigger growth than ever before.

FAQ
Do I need a chiller?
Yes, unless you're keeping your grow room between 65-68°F at all times- which is colder than we would recommend.
What temperature should the nutrient solution be?
The nutrient solution temperature should be maintained between 66-69 °F (19-20 °C) to discourage pathogenic bacteria and fungi while maximizing oxygenation.
What level should the nutrient solution be filled to?
The V-SYSTEM pots have a fill indicator line inside each pot that shows the optimal nutrient solution level. When first placing small plants without dangling roots into the system, the nutrient solution level should be kept slightly higher for a few days to keep the roots wet while they grow down into the pot- simply inspect the roots with the handy inspection lids on the V-POT to know when your plants are ready to take off.
Should the water pump run 24/7?
Yes, the pump should be kept running at all times when plants are in the system, except when completely draining the system for a nutrient change-out. Never run the pump when dry- this damages the pump in the long term.
What if power fails?
In the event of a power failure, the ultra-oxygenated liquid around the plants' roots in the V-Pots provides a safe buffer for a relatively long time; depending on the plants' size (larger plants are thirstier for nutrients and oxygen) you have many hours to a day or more before other measures are required to keep the plants happy without the water flowing. Compared to other media-less hydroponic methodss, recirculating deep water culture (RDWC) systems, as used in the V-SYSTEM, are the most resiliant to power-failure situations.
How frequently are nutrient change-outs needed?
To keep the plants in the freshest, optimally-balanced nutrient solution, change-outs should happen every 7-10 days, or more frequently if pH levels are drifting significantly from from day to day.
Is it necessary to completely drain the whole system for a nutrient change-out?
No; many growers change out only half the nutrient solution each time. If you're having issues with pathogens in your system, a complete drain and replacement is beneficial.
What is the ideal nutrient solution pH?
5.8 to 6.0 is generally ideal, but it is usually best to follow the recommendations of your fertilizer manufacturer- they are usually designing their nutrients for an optimal absorption rate at a specific pH value.
How should pH be adusted?
Don't pour concentrated pH-up or pH-down solutions directly into the header pot as this can shock plants in the system. We recommend diluting the pH-adjustment solution in water (about 30ml / 2 Tablespoons per gallon of water) before slowly adding it to the header pot. Wait 4-5 minutes for it to distribute through the system (with the V-SYSTEM, distribution is much faster than with other RDWC systems!) and test and re-test the pH; once it has stabilized, you can add more adjustment solution if needed and repeat the procedure until the optimal pH has been achieved.
How can the system be completely drained?
Connect a hose- or a pump and hose for even faster drainage- to the convenient drain barbs on the V-SYSTEM's elbows. With the sloped-base V-Pots and patent-pending Dual-Flow™ fittings, all of the nutrient solution in the entire system can be drained.
Can I use organic nutrients with the V-SYSTEM?
While everything about the V-SYSTEM is designed to prevent clogging, organic nutrients, sugars and bacterial additives tend to cause build-up and eventual clogging in the distribution pipes. Mineral or "salt-based" nutrients are recommended over "organic" nutrients for the V-SYSTEM.
Can I expand my V-SYSTEM?
Yes, additional pots and rows can be added later. The solvent-free (glue-free) connections allow the V-SYSTEM to be disassembled and re-assembled in a different configuration, or with additional pots. As the run of pots down each row gets longer, the pump may need to be upgraded and nutrient distribution pipe may need to get larger to handle the additional flow- Contact us with additional questions!

Inkjets have come a long way
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
Just a lot to like about this printer and nothing I don't like. Very capable for the price.
I do mostly black and white printing, rarely print photos. (This will supposedly do a credible job of photo printing too but I haven't tried it). If you want professional caliber photo printing, you probably want the Epson 8550 which is similar to this, a bit more expensive, but does 6 color printing. If you are doing more like every day business printing the 15000 might be a better choice because it's built more for speed.
The tank system means I can just replace the black because I use it a lot. The black ink tank is double size of the others and based on my experience so far, I think I'll easily get over a thousand pages on the standard-vivid setting which is very strong black but still relatively high speed printing. Given that the black ink bottles are under $30 I think the cost per page will be comparable to laser.
The booklet/pamphlet printing can be complicated to work out with layers of PDF software and the Epson printer driver. But once you work it through, it's super capable. I've printed a lot of 12 x 18 double-sided for booklets and the paper handling has been flawless. (It can duplex automatically for 8 1/2 x 11 but for other sizes you have to manually duplex, which you can do by printing back/front or even/odd.)
It's not as fast as a laser printer but it's pretty fast -- inkjets have improved so much.

Perfect Printer for My Small Business
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
I purchased the Epson ET-15000 for my crafting and apparel business and have been very pleased with its performance. The print quality is excellent, colors are vibrant, and the large ink tanks help save money over time. It handles larger print sizes with ease and has become an essential part of my workspace.

Nice large format printer which is what I needed
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
I make stained glass panels and needed a printer that I could make larger copies with. I also wanted one that I could manipulate my images with. This was my best option and I love the Eco-Tank printers. After reading the reviews I made sure to add a couple years of additional warranty for my peace of mind. Finding 13 x 19 paper that was affordable was a tough challenge. I found a bunch on FB marketplace and bought everything they had to offer.
This printer was very easy to set-up. I just followed the instructions and then followed what was on my computer screen. At first I thought I would have an issue connecting to Wi-Fi but when it failed on the computer, I was able to go to the printer and do it from the control panel - Easy peesey. I have used it several times since filling, charging, and installing and everything works as it should. My husband has an Eco-Tank printer and I've wanted one since he got his. I love that the ink will last a very long time and that it will be cost efficient. I am not overly interested in photo printing so this was the perfect choice for my needs.
The print quality is fairly good when comparing it to my old Canon and e that there are several paper trays and ways to make copies, especially the automatic feed and the larger scanner bed.

document feeder not working on first real use.
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
Serious reliability issues and concerns. We have owned the printer for about 1 month and printed a limited amount. For the first time today I tried scanning with the document feeder. I was scanning about 12 pages that should of been 1 document. The first page scanned and then stopped. I started the scanner again and it scanned about 5 pages and then jammed. The rest of the pages were a constant jamming/not feeding fiasco. I would run to the computer and hit scan, then run to the printer and manually push on the paper as hard as i could without the paper bending. if I pushed just right i could get a few pages through without jamming. I ended up with about 6 pdf's instead of one document and constant jamming in the paper feeder. Frustrating from a brand new printer and the first time using the paper scanner. There is a clicking noise when it scans. a few of the pages fed properly but the rest had to be forced. No obvious obstructions or other issues. I tried cleaning the rollers with no success. Then attempted to reach out to Epson support. The only support option I could find was an email form that put me in a captia loop after entering all the information so I had to start over on the ticket submission.
No chat support, no phone number, brand new higher priced printer with serious build/reliability issues. Frustrating.

This is a great printer. I love it.
Pattern Name: Printer, Style: ET-15000
I’ve been using the Epson ET‑15000 for custom chip bags and ran into a huge issue with my original paper choice. The printer itself is great, but the Koala 30 lb glossy paper did not play well with the black ink at all. Even after letting my prints sit for a full two days, the black areas would still smear and come off on my fingers as soon as I started folding and assembling the bags. It was super frustrating and made it hard to trust my prints for orders.
I decided to try Eshang high gloss paper instead, and the difference has been night and day. With the same Epson ET‑15000 and the same designs, the Eshang paper works like a charm. The black ink dries quickly, doesn’t rub off when handled, and holds up beautifully while I’m folding and sealing my chip bags. Colors look vibrant, the finish is nice and glossy, and I don’t have to worry about smudging anymore.
If you’re using an Epson EcoTank like the ET‑15000 and struggling with black ink smearing on Koala glossy, I highly recommend switching to Eshang high gloss. It completely solved the problem for me and made my chip bag printing so much easier and more professional.
