Percussion Workshop Kente djembe - rope tunedPercussion Workshop djembes Percussion Workshop djembes are made using Indonesian mahogany from SVLK compliant sources. This system ensures the wood is legally logged, transported, traded, and processed, and was initiated to answer the global need to be more responsible with the world's natural resources. Each drum is sustainably designed for long term use in the classroom and built to last. Traditionally djembes are played as part of an ensemble and
Unique design
The distinctive features of the djembe include a traditional goatskin head, sarong wrapped head ring, nylon rope tuning, and a superior third metal ring system to eliminate any chance of the skin slipping. Djembes are covered with elaborate designs, which are either carved or painted onto the surface of the drum stand. Combined, these features ensure the djembe has a unique sound and design.Sounds of the djembe
Djembes are extremely versatile and widespread, due to the range of possible pitches which can be created by hitting different areas of the drum skin. The main sounds produced by the djembe are bass, tone and slap. Bass is a low-pitched note played in the centre of the drum. Tone, a medium-pitched sound, is made by striking the djembe skin right at the edge. Finally, slap is the most technically challenging sound of the djembe: a high-pitched note played near the edge of the djembe skin, it is similar to ‘tone’ but the hand is positioned slightly further towards the centre of the drum skin.Cultural significance
Originating in West Africa, djembes have been a key part of spiritual traditions and rituals for generations. Djembe players are an integral part of African communities, and their role includes storytelling, communication with other tribes and entertainment. Passing on cultural, religious and historical information from generation to generation is also involved in their performances. Djembes are traditionally played at celebratory events such as festivals, marriages and birth ceremonies, and these rituals are accompanied by singing and dancing.Shipping Notes

Refunding/giftcards. Thank you
They were nice enough to replace my vacuum even though the battery was defective. They usually don't cover batteries. So it was a great. But they were nice enough to give me a gift card for the whole amount. Thanks

Great Vacuum for Pet Households
Color: Nordic Blue/Space Grey, Style: Miele Guard L1
Excellent vacuum for houses with pets and carpet. It’s outrageously powerful and is light and easy to maneuver around. The color is a perk too, looks great.

Great vacuum
Color: Nordic Blue/Space Grey, Style: Miele Guard L1
Bought this to replace a Dyson, and I love it! Strong suction and super quiet. I was especially interested in this vacuum because of allergies and wanted better filtration to keep dust down, and this succeeded. I got no dust blowing around and the house doesn’t smell like dog after vacuuming. I did buy the Miele hepa filter since that does not come with this vacuum. Great purchase for allergies - Worth the money!

Major purchase! Builds muscle
Color: Nordic Blue/Space Grey, Style: Miele Guard L1
I've had a Miele for 14 years before the powerhead burned up. Decided to invest in a new one as 225 for a powerhead was a gamble on one that old. I like to use a vacuum rather than a dust mop, and I have carpet as well. Did a bit of research and decided this one was the one for me. I did keep my old swivel parquet floor attachment as it fits. haven't used the floor head that came with this one much, so jury is still out. The new powerhead is HEAVY. Takes a while to learn to maneuver it well, but it really gets the deep pile carpet cleaner. Love the longer cord and hose. Overall, happy with the Miele Guard1. The only reason for the 4 stars is because it does take muscle to work the powerhead. Quieter than my old one, which is pleasing to husband.
