Clam Tide - 24"x24" Light-up PaintingThis is a painting of a winter sunset over the Pacific Ocean, as seen from Washingtons Long Beach Peninsula. This is a painting of a winter sunset over the Pacific Ocean, as seen from Washington’s Long Beach Peninsula. My husband and I went out to the beach to dig razor clams with my dad, an expert digger. The clams weren’t showing – but the sky put on quite a show! I didn’t get my limit, but I got great photos.
This is a very unique painting! The foreground is painted on a separate wood panel that is mounted slightly in front of the "background" sky panel. An LED light strip is mounted between the two wood panels; turn the lights on a subtle neon-style glow will illuminate the horizon. These are super cool! Using the included remote, you can choose to have a steady light or to have the light fade between different colors.
This painting was a collaboration with my husband; he cut out the foreground panel, installed the lights, and mounted the foreground panel to the painting.
