The S150 will now only charge Smart NiMH batteries and all compatible Smart and non-Smart 3rd party LiPo/LiHV/LiFe type hobby batteries. This update was implemented to improve safety by helping to ensure the correct charge type is used when charging LiPo, Li-Ion or LiFe batteries by removing non-Smart NiMH support. When using NiMH batteries is preferred, only Spektrum Smart brand NiMH batteries will be compatible with the Smart S150 Charger. This firmware update is on all versions of the S150 charger currently in stock listed below… SPMXC1070 SPMXC1070I SPMXG2S2 SPMXG2S3 Coinciding with this important update, we have removed access to older firmware files from our downloadable firmware updates, and will also be updating boxes and manuals for the S150 Smart Charger for future production.
