When The Notwist returned with their acclaimed seventh studio album Close to the Glass in early 2014, many were enchanted by the epic instrumental track "Lineri." It was the only instrumental track featured on that album, but according to Markus Acher, the band's vocalist, instrumental works had an important role in the album. Indeed, while the band's members pursued solo projects between 2008's the Devil, You + Me and 2014's Close to the Glass, The Notwist also composed instrumental works for several theater productions and radio plays, some of which are compiled here as the Messier Objects. The collection obviously brings to mind the ghosts of library music and '70s soundtracks, but can also be heard as a summary of the band's ever-evolving musical cosmos. The 17 featured pieces range from sample-based electronic collages to the buoyant post-rock of "Das Spiel ist aus." Whether the band is experimenting with modular synthesizers, analog percussion, or even horn sections ("Object 11"), there remains a constant flow of gentle grooves that makes this open-minded collection more than just a companion piece to Close to the Glass.

The Illustrations are Sweet, Storyline… Great!

This book is sturdy and has a wonderful message. My grandchildren love it! If you are the one who presents 2 children in a classroom or other setting, most children will really love this book. The durability of the book is great. The illustrations are sweet.
The review platform does not allow for me to enter an age span. It does not allow for me to enter multiple ages. It seems to force you to Select one age. I would say that having raised children of my own, I would start reading this book by one years old, but the average child I guess would best benefit with between ages like two and four. The book could be read up to people who are like six years old if they just love a sweet bedtime story.

A great tool for learning at home
Format: Paperback
This was a wonderful book to help get my little one ready for 1st grade. The activities were grade appropriate, the colors and pictures were lovely and it was easy to jump around so the book didn't become too much of a chore. It had definitely made a difference in how prepared my kid was going from the hecticness of kinder into a proper classroom setting.
