This painting depicts the view from my apartment rooftop, which is a lovely place to watch the sunset. In between the tall buildings, you can see little slivers of the river. I love this painting for all it’s layers. Look closely and you’ll see that I used lots of translucent washes to create the clouds, meaning you can see from one layer through to the one underneath. The vibrant colors and the dark hills make this a striking painting.
