HPE 8320 Layer 3 Switch

The HPE 8320 Layer 3 Switch, also known as the Aruba 8320 Campus Core and Aggregation Switch, represents a bold leap forward in campus networking. Built to meet the demands of modern hybrid work, sprawling campuses, and data-driven enterprises, this switch blends high-performance routing with intelligent automation and robust security. By consolidating core and aggregation roles in a single, scalable platform, the 8320 accelerates application delivery, simplifies management, and reduces total cost of ownership, making it a foundation for resilient, future-ready networks.

  • High-performance Layer 3 routing and fast convergence – The HPE 8320 delivers advanced routing capabilities essential for large, sub-netted networks. It supports multiple routing protocols (including OSPF, BGP, and EIGRP), VRF for traffic isolation, and efficient route processing to ensure rapid convergence during topology changes. This enables reliable reachability for hundreds of subnets and thousands of devices, while maintaining predictable latency for critical applications such as real-time collaboration and video conferencing.
  • Dense, scalable port configurations for flexible fabrics – Designed to adapt to evolving campus architectures, the 8320 offers high-density port options that accommodate a mix of 1/10/25/40/100 GbE interfaces. This flexibility supports scalable topologies from access-leaf to spine-like cores, reduces the need for oversubscription, and simplifies migration paths as bandwidth demands grow. Unified fabric designs can span campus distribution to data center aggregation with consistent policies and performance.
  • ArubaOS-CX intelligence for automation and telemetry – Powering the switch is ArubaOS-CX, an advanced operating system that delivers intent-based networking, automated provisioning, and continuous telemetry. Features such as dynamic health checks, policy-driven automation, and wired assurance help administrators deploy configurations quickly, troubleshoot faster, and maintain optimal network conditions. Built-in analytics translate vast data into actionable insights, enabling proactive maintenance and reduced mean time to repair (MTTR).
  • Advanced security and robust segmentation – Security is woven into every layer of the 8320. With features like role-based access control, ACLs, secure management interfaces, and dynamic segmentation, the switch helps protect user and device traffic across campus networks. Integration with security services and threat intelligence enhances protection against emerging threats while preserving user experience and application performance.
  • Resilient design with energy efficiency – The 8320 embraces reliability through hot-swappable power supplies, modular fans where applicable, and solid state design intended to minimize downtime. Coupled with energy-conscious hardware and intelligent power management, it delivers strong performance per watt and reduces operational costs—an important consideration for large deployments and multi-site campuses.

How to install HPE 8320 Layer 3 Switch

  • Plan your topology in advance by defining your core and aggregation roles, subnets, VLANs, and routing boundaries. Decide on VRF usage for traffic isolation and determine uplink/downlink requirements to meet bandwidth targets.
  • Rack and deploy the switch in a secure, well-ventilated cabinet. Connect redundant power sources if available and verify that fans and cooling are unobstructed for reliable operation.
  • Connect management and data-plane interfaces as designed. Establish out-of-band access for management VLANs, and ensure time synchronization services (NTP) are reachable to support accurate logging and telemetry.
  • Power up the device and access the console or management interface. Update to the latest ArubaOS-CX firmware to guarantee optimal performance, security, and feature parity with your network design.
  • Begin with a minimal, baseline configuration: set up a management VLAN, secure administrative access, configure basic routing (OSPF/BGP as required), and enable essential QoS and security policies.
  • Implement automation and telemetry by enabling relevant scripts or playbooks and integrating with your network management system. Validate configurations using built-in health checks and diagnostic commands to confirm route reachability and interface status.
  • Test end-to-end connectivity across subnets, verify routing tables and VRF integrity, and perform load testing to ensure the network meets expected performance targets under typical usage.
  • Configure monitoring and alerting to capture performance metrics, utilization, and fault conditions. Establish a rollback plan and backup configurations to safeguard against misconfigurations or outages.

Frequently asked questions

Great barefoot option for early walkers!
Size: 12-18 Months Infant, Color: Grey
A moccasin is such a great place to start! Buying barefoot shoes can be hard.. they’re not always the cutest, can be expensive & there’s a lot to pay attention to! We love moccasins as a great first shoe for our boys. Perfect for summer because they’re more like a sandal & let in air flow. Why we love: ✨Meets barefoot-style checklist ✨SUPER inexpensive ✨Quality made & last a long time ✨Lots of style & sizing options ✨Breathable ✨Easy to put on & take off ✨They protect feet all while still giving a sensory experience These ones do run big, so size down. If you’re looking for a shoe that has more grip on the bottom, there are tons of moccasin style shoes with grip as well. Give these a shot if you have a fresh walker on your hands!

Size: 12-18 Months Infant, Color: Grey, Size: 12-18 Months Infant, Color: Grey
The material is great! My child likes it and hasn’t tried to take them off! They are lightweight and not bulky. Very flexible ! Also I did my research and it’s made in the UK and made with genuine leather! The color is cute as well! Wish they did have more variety here in Amazon but still okay with it!

Cute, soft, comfy
Size: 6-12 Months Infant, Color: Navy
I wanted a leather sole shoe for my ten month old daughter for playing outside this summer so she could have protection for her feet without a hard “supportive” shoe inhibiting her ability to learn to balance or affecting her feet as the bones continue to develop. These are perfect, they are soft and easy to put on. The elastic in the ankle holds it on without being too tight and it doesn’t dig into her skin at all. Provide protection and grip as she learns to walk and are not too bulky at all. I got the 9-12 month size and it has enough room to accommodate a chubbier foot than my daughter has, but still fits well and looks adorable.

Love these
Size: 18-24 Months Infant, Color: Grey
These are awesome! My 15-month old wore these everywhere on our trip to Mexico. He scuffed them up quite a bit, but other than cosmetics, they're holding strong through sand, sprinklers, and general gallivanting around. They are super easy to get on, which also makes them easy for him to pull off. But as long as he's busy running a muck, he forgets they're even on his feet.

Sizing is off, send me free pair!
Size: 3-4 Years Toddler, Color: Navy, Size: 3-4 Years Toddler, Color: Navy
Sizing is off. I’m very frustrated. I ordered it to Costa Rica thru shipping company in Miami, which takes about 3 weeks to deliver and + shipping fee that they apply (20$) I spent time and checked the size guide. According to the size guide, I ordered “3-4 years old” which supposed to be 16cm from heel to toe) the pair I ordered ended up being 17cm! My baby’s feet are 15cm, I was planning to get 16cm for him to grow into it, but 17cm is too big. The shoes it self looks good, the leather is very soft and nice. I’m not sure how durable they are. Ordering first time from this brand. I ordered 2 pairs of shoes from a similar brand and liked it. They just didn’t have the size I needed. Although, the leather the previous brand uses for shoes seems much thicker. Again, I don’t know how durable “Dooty Fish” but I like how soft on skin they are.
