A differentiated Edgar Allan Poe study guide bundle with 14 classic short stories—each with 3 text levels (Accessible/HILO, Leveled, Original) so every student can join the same discussion and exit quiz.

PROBLEM: Many classic short-story units fall apart in real classrooms because the original text can be challenging, and students often read at different levels—so teachers end up reteaching constantly or simplifying until the story loses its power.

SOLUTION: This Differentiated Edgar Allan Poe Short Stories Bundle solves that problem by giving you three aligned reading options for every title so the class can move together while students read the version that best supports comprehension today.

What You Get (Per Title)

  • Original Text (best for advanced readers, extension groups, and quoting practice)
  • Leveled Text (keeps the core plot and tone while simplifying syntax and clarifying references)
  • Accessible Text (HILO) (very clear language to reduce cognitive load and support comprehension)
  • Student worksheets/quizzes: Vocabulary, Short Answer, Challenge Questions, and a cross-version Multiple Choice Exit Quiz
  • Teacher’s Guide & Answer Key: Discussion Questions, self-graded quiz version(s), and answer keys

Every discussion prompt, quiz item, and short-answer question is designed to be answerable from the Accessible (HILO), Leveled, or Original Text while still mapping cleanly to the original story for extension reading and text-evidence practice.

Quick Guide for Teachers

  • Reading: Assign Accessible (HILO), Leveled, or Original based on student needs
  • Whole-class discussion: Use the shared Discussion Questions across all reading levels
  • Assessment: Use the cross-version Multiple Choice Exit Quiz (printable + self-graded option)
  • Finishers/homework: Use Vocabulary, Short Answer, and Challenge Questions as time allows

Included Titles (14)

Searchable Teacher Keywords

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to teach the Original Text to use this bundle?

No. The discussions and exit quizzes are designed to be answerable from the Accessible (HILO) and Leveled texts, with clean mapping to the Original Text for optional extension and quoting practice.

What if my class has mixed reading levels?

Assign Accessible (HILO), Leveled, or Original by student needs. Everyone still completes the same Discussion Questions, worksheets, and Exit Quiz so pacing stays unified.

How can I use this across a quarter?

Use each story as a 1–2 day mini-unit (reading + discussion + exit quiz), then spiral skills (theme, point of view, structure, tone) across the set for a cohesive Poe/Gothic unit.

Fluffy and Nice Omegaverse
Format: Kindle
… this would have made 5 stars but for 2 reasons. A.) there were quite a few typos; misspelled words, missing quotations, “the his” mistakes, and various signs that maybe a proofread would do good. B.) the writing was quite textbook. Late blooming omega is struggling with her new self, finds a absurdly wealthy pack of alphas, every thing is almost insta-love but she resists, then decides to love herself and let everyone be happy. Rian was my favourite (obviously the author’s favourite too because he got the most page time) but I wish we could see more of his CEO side? He went to work maybe ONCE the entire time. Gray was supposed to be the “growly one” but he turned out to be puppy dog. Lucas was a genius brainiac doctor - but also super alpha with an aggressive hindbrain with a breeding k*nk?? And then there was no actual “breeding”?? Spice 3/5 - normally omegaverse books are super high on messy smut but this was tamer. Romance 3/5 - insta-love that was then resisted because of personal hangup’s Plot 2/5 - weird paced head hopping, showing the same scene from different POV’s that made me feel like it was 2 steps backward, 1 step forward. Humour 4/5 - there were a dozen lines that genuinely made me chuckle out loud Would have been five stars but the lack of proofreading and the predictable plot made me unable to get up to ADORED IT level - four stars is still and official ENJOYED IT, y’all. This isn’t a bad rating. The “Club Heat” has intriguing possibilities so I’m going to give the second one a shot.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things
Format: Kindle
I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2. Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.

delightful read
Format: Kindle
What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.
