Upgrade your HPE server to the pinnacle of multi-core performance with the HPE AMD EPYC 9004 (4th Gen) 9454 processor. This Octatetraconta-core powerhouse is engineered for enterprises that demand uncompromising throughput, outstanding virtualization density, and accelerated analytics across large data sets. With 48 cores and 96 threads, it delivers exceptional parallel processing capabilities, enabling more virtual machines, containers, and services to run concurrently without sacrificing latency or reliability. Built on a 5 nm process and designed for the SP5 socket, the 9454 integrates seamlessly into modern data centers, providing a forward-looking upgrade path for organizations pursuing next-level performance while maintaining efficiency and reliability in demanding workloads. The processor’s substantial L3 and L2 caches help mitigate memory bottlenecks, speeding up data access for database engines, in-memory analytics, and high-performance computing tasks. Coupled with its 290 W power envelope and 64-bit processing, this CPU is purpose-built for enterprise-grade workloads that require sustained performance under heavy load, day in and day out.

Designed for mission-critical server environments, the 9454 Upgrade combines raw compute power with thoughtful architectural choices that optimize throughput and efficiency. The 4th generation AMD EPYC family leverages advanced manufacturing to maximize per-core performance while minimizing energy per operation, which translates into greater performance-per-watt in real-world scenarios. In workloads such as virtualization, cloud-native deployments, large-scale databases, and data analytics platforms, the 9454 helps unlock denser consolidation and faster time-to-insight. The absence of integrated graphics emphasizes the CPU’s focus on compute, memory, and I/O performance, while SP5 socket compatibility ensures a robust upgrade path for compatible HPE server platforms. Whether you’re optimizing an enterprise data center, scaling a private cloud, or deploying AI inference pipelines, this processor offers predictable, enterprise-grade performance with a clear upgrade trajectory for future workloads.

  • Unmatched core density and thread count: 48 cores and 96 threads empower heavy multi-threaded workloads, enabling dense virtualization, large-scale container orchestration, and concurrent data-processing tasks. This level of parallelism reduces the need for additional CPUs, simplifies management, and improves overall utilization in data-center environments. Expect smooth scaling for complex workloads, with consistent performance across multiple virtual machines and microservices running in parallel.
  • High clock speed and responsive turbo: A base clock of 2.75 GHz paired with a turbo capability up to 3.80 GHz delivers responsive performance for both single-threaded and multi-threaded tasks. This combination accelerates a broad range of workloads—from transactional databases and real-time analytics to latency-sensitive service orchestration—while preserving energy efficiency where possible. In bursts, critical tasks get the headroom they need to complete quickly, supporting faster service delivery and improved user-perceived performance.
  • Advanced cache architecture for data-intensive workloads: With 256 MB of L3 cache and 48 MB of L2 cache, the 9454’s memory hierarchy reduces data access latency and improves throughput for memory-bound operations. This cache density is particularly advantageous for large-scale analytics, in-memory databases, columnar workloads, and data processing pipelines that repeatedly touch the same data sets, helping to minimize the need to fetch data from slower RAM or storage layers.
  • Efficient 5 nm process and enterprise-focused design: The 5 nm manufacturing process enables higher transistor density, improved energy efficiency, and greater per-core performance. Coupled with a server-oriented design philosophy, the 9454 aims to deliver robust performance under sustained workloads while managing cooling and thermal considerations in rack environments. This combination is ideal for consolidating workloads, boosting virtualization density, and delivering reliable service levels across mission-critical applications.
  • Socket SP5 compatibility and no-graphics configuration for servers: Built for Socket SP5, this upgrade aligns with modern HPE server motherboards designed to support the latest AMD EPYC processors. The “No Graphics” configuration ensures resources are dedicated to compute, memory, and I/O performance, leaving graphics responsibilities to discrete accelerators or GPUs as required by specialized workloads. This setup is tailored for data-center deployments where compute throughput and memory bandwidth are prioritized over on-CPU graphics capabilities.

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Fun with a late blooming omega
Format: Kindle
I like this book. The story is fun, cute, and sexy. There's just a little drama, some excellent, steamy scenes, and a fairly good relationship building storyline. I especially like how all the main characters are a bit older than the usual 20 somethings I tend to see in this kind of book. Having said that, I wish there were more descriptions of the places, as well as the food in the fancy restaurant. I enjoyed the cocktails at the club, so I missed that kind of detail when Gray took Madison on a dinner date. I also wish there had been more interaction between Lucas and Madison, and Lucas and Rian. It felt a bit lopsided, with a focus on Rian, Madison, and Gray. I wish it had been proofread - there are a lot of typos, but nothing too distracting.

Madison Deserved Better
Format: Kindle
Madison was a beta...except she wasn't any longer. She was a late presenting Omega. And she was struggling. She was tall and thin, not tiny and curvy. She was opinionated. She was everything an Omega was not. After suffering through her first heat, her friends took her to Ardor, a club where Omegas came to safely find Alphas. She's not expecting much but then she connects with a sexy beta. And when she meets his Alphas, they set her body on fire. Maybe, she's found her no-strings-attached heat pack. Maybe, she's found something more. I could not connect with the characters in this book, so their story never resonated with me. And there was no love story; there was sex. Grey made it clear from the beginning that he had a true love and it was his beta boy, Rian. He went so far as to reassure Rian “Say the word, I’ll never touch her again. Lucas can put the babies in her. I only need you, beta boy”. So, Madison was there for babies, no emotions needed. Nice. No, thank you. I want the Omega to be the center of their world, not an incubator. Lucas and Rian weren't any better. After her heat, they let her leave. Not one of them made her feel valued. No one gave her a reason to stay or even offered a cuddle. And the sex didn't even come across as mind-blowing. Madison deserved better.
