I know it was inspired by a trip to NYC, so that had to be represented in the visual; ideally a car or vehicle had to be involved (the lyrics don't offer much else) . . . but I wanted a very dark (midnight) and creepy vibe to it, since the song is

I know it was inspired by a trip to NYC, so that had to be represented in the visual; ideally a car or vehicle had to be involved (the lyrics don't offer much else) . . . but I wanted a very dark (midnight) and creepy vibe to it, since the song is multilayered and polysemic in that way. Oh, what an opportunity to use something in the style of H.R. Giger, then! His NYC series is so good - and this image ticked off all the boxes.
