Background

N-terminal propeptide of type 1 precollagen (P1NP) is one of the markers of bone formation. Osteoblasts contain a large amount of typeⅠprecollagen. During bone formation, typeⅠprocollagen is secreted outside the cell and cleaved by specific protease to form typeⅠcollagen N-terminal procollagen of type 1 precollagen (P1NP) and C-terminal procollagen of type 1 precollagen, PICP) and typeⅠcollagen 3 fragments. Type I collagen is assembled in osteoid where inorganic minerals (calcium and phosphorus) are deposited to form hydroxyapatite (osteoid mineralization). P1NP and PICP enter the blood and urine as metabolites, so the detection of P1NP and PICP can reflect the level of bone formation. As the research evidence of P1NP reflecting bone formation is richer than PICP, P1NP is a better marker of bone formation. P1NP has good specificity, little influence on circadian rhythm and feeding, and is stable at room temperature. At present, P1NP is generally recommended as the preferred bone formation marker.

I’d call this a liquid and not lotion. It literally pours out of the tube without even squeezing so has to be held upright at all times when the cap is off. Makes a real mess (and I do shake it well before opening as the instructions say). Other than the packaging, I really like the product. It blends well with no white cast after rubbing in, is moisturizing without looking greasy at all or causing breakouts, and has provided good sun protection. Impressed! Also like that while water and sweatproof, it washes off with a gentle face cleanser at the end of the day unlike some of the zinc-based products I’ve tried that leave a thick coating and require scrubbing. This is my first Blue Lizard product and I’ll probably keep using it as a daily sunscreen—but definitely not to throw in a bag and take to the beach because of the messy application. Bought the stick version to try out.

I switched to mineral sunscreen, but everything left a ghostly white sheen. Luckily, this sunscreen does exactly as advertised. I've been using it daily for a week straight, and I have had no problems with it. The consistency of this product is thick, kinda sticky at first, and a bit hard to blend/spread out, but I think that's bound to happen with any sunscreen that's actually protective. It may also seem that it leaves a white cast initially, but after letting it dry for a minute or two, it becomes clear. Overall I can't recommend this enough, and I'm glad to finally have a sensitive-skin-friendly mineral sunscreen that doesn't leave a white cast :)

Where has this been my whole life

Let me give you some background. I’m middle eastern. That means I tan well but have two different skin tones; my January skin and my July skin. HOWEVER, I have finally found the product I’ve been searching for. Blue Lizard leaves no white cast on my skin. It’s easy to rub in. It also does not get trapped in my dense, black eyebrows the way other products did. It would gross me out and look like I had flakes in my eyebrows. I just spent the week at Universal Studios and I did not burn. I didn’t tan either, which is great. Tanning is also a sign of sun damage. Chemical or mineral sunscreens often prevent sunburn but I still tan. I don’t want either. I am sold and will continue to buy this product. I feel great about that it has safer and better quality ingredients.
