how to install Allied Telesis AT-X230-28GT-10 Ethernet Switch

Setting up the AT-X230-28GT-10 is designed to be straightforward, letting you bring high-performance edge switching online quickly. Below are practical steps to get your device deployed with confidence and aligned to best practices.

  • Prepare the installation area: choose a clean, ventilated rack-mount location with adequate clearance for airflow and cable management. Ensure the power source meets the device’s requirements and that you have a reliable surge protector or UPS to maintain uptime.
  • Mount the switch: secure the unit in a standard 19-inch rack using appropriate rails or brackets. Verify that all mounting hardware is tightened and that the chassis is stable before proceeding.
  • Power up and verify hardware status: connect the power cords and power on the switch. Check the front-panel LEDs to confirm normal startup, with indicators showing power, activity, and link status for each port.
  • Connect network devices: attach user devices, access points, printers, and uplink connections to the 28 Gigabit ports. If you plan to interconnect multiple switches or connect to a core, designate uplink ports and ensure correct cabling standards are followed (Cat6/6A or better for quality and future-proofing).
  • Access the management interface: open a web browser and enter the switch’s default IP address to launch the web-based GUI, or connect via SSH/console for CLI access. Log in with the default credentials and immediately change them to secure accounts.
  • Configure core features: establish VLANs to segment traffic by department or function, enable Layer 3 routing as needed, and set up QoS policies to prioritize latency-sensitive applications. Create ACLs to enforce security rules and protect critical segments from unauthorized access.
  • Save and test: apply your configuration, save the changes, and perform a basic connectivity test. Verify that devices on the same VLAN can communicate and that routed traffic between VLANs or subnets follows the intended paths. Confirm uplink connectivity to upstream devices or core switches.
  • Document the deployment: maintain a concise record of IP addressing, VLAN IDs, port assignments, and QoS rules. This documentation speeds future changes and troubleshooting while ensuring consistent network operation.

Format: Paperback
Dark and delicious this is an amazing start to this duet featuring Vogue and her guys. Vogue is a KA FMC who I am definitely rooting for. Her guys are all protective and lovable. With the ease that Vogue fell into her role and with her guys I am so excited to see how it evolves.

Decent read
Format: Kindle
Normally I just give stars and very few times do I review in words. I like the book. I like the FMC. I just think there should have been a bit more build up? Storytelling? Its just a wee bit disjointed on so many levels. This girl is smart. But cant throw a punch? Especially from the bad area she lived in? She's too calm about everything in my opinion and definitely something is just off. This needed more writing out. More explanation. More something that wasn't there in my opinion.. again. Besides that I felt like it had a good story line if not a bit disjointed.

A street Smart, Book smart driven FMC? Sign me up
Format: Paperback
This was a non stop read for me. Vogue is a FMC that you fall in love with as soon as the story starts. She has worked her behind off to get into Crestmont University and she is not about to roll over and let anyone take what she has coming to her from her! She is not only book smart but street smart as well which helps her out a lot! Especially with Callum, Quentin, Thayer and Harrison. She is totally willing to take charge and take care of her business. I am so glad that the 2nd book is being released at the same time because I know I could not wait to read it. I swear This book will keep you guessing and not wanting to put it down at all! Loved this duet! Eve Newton really honestly did it yet again!

big let down
Format: Kindle
The first book was so rushed, I really hoped #2 would have more story. Some of the content was ridiculous - not believable in any sense. Even the spicy sex scenes fell flat. I felt I needed to finish it but I didn’t want to. I usually and stuck in the book and can’t wait for the next chapter. It was just a let down.
