Mastered over the years, Nic’s depictions of life’s joys, trials and relationships have long enchanted viewers. Deeply rooted in reflection, The Next Chapter 2026 is inspired by the embrace of the belief that the future is not separated from the past but rather informed by it.  

Depicting a worker standing on top of a toilet roll, carefully painting the phrase “F*** This S***” onto a sign, ‘Found Wisdom’ humorously uses a miniature figure and an everyday object to comment on the world around us. Funny at first glance, the seriousness of the figure's task contrasts with the absurd setting and the blunt message - creating a moment of unexpected comedy. Intentionally ambiguous, the phrase itself is not directed at anything – could be a reaction to global events, social pressures, politics or everyday stress – leaving us to interpret it in our own way and connect it to our own personal experiences. With this, Joly achieves a perfect balance between humour and honesty, capturing a feeling of frustration using comedy to keep the message playful rather than cynical.
