Protect critical network gear with a compact, rack-mount UPS designed for small data centers, network closets, and busy offices. The Eaton 5P line-interactive UPS delivers reliable battery backup for servers, VoIP phones, storage arrays, and PoE switches, ensuring clean power, graceful shutdowns, and enhanced uptime. Built to fit in tight spaces, this 2U unit boasts 16 inches of depth, 120V operation, and True Sine Wave output to safeguard sensitive equipment from power irregularities and outages.

  • Reliable 750 VA / 600 W capacity for essential IT loads: This UPS provides robust protection for small servers, network switches, IP phones, NAS devices, and other critical components in a compact 2U rack-mount chassis. It delivers sufficient battery backup to prevent abrupt outages during short-term power interruptions and allows for orderly shutdowns to protect valuable data and applications.
  • Line-Interactive design with Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR): The line-interactive topology prioritizes energy efficiency while automatically correcting voltage fluctuations without drawing down the battery. AVR helps stabilize in-rack equipment against sags and surges, enabling continued operation during common utility disturbances and preserving battery capacity for true outages.
  • True Sine Wave output for sensitive electronics: Unlike cheaper square-wave or simulated-sine solutions, this Eaton 5P UPS produces a clean, stable AC waveform that closely mirrors utility power. This is essential for servers, switching gear, storage devices, and VoIP systems to maintain performance, reduce heat, and extend device life during operation on backup power.
  • 10 x 5-15R outlets plus 5-15P input: A generous count of standard outlets accommodates multiple devices in a single rack or cabinet—critical for small data centers and network closets. The 5-15P input and 120V output ensure compatibility with common North American outlets and a straightforward installation process for IT staff.
  • Cybersecure Network Card Option for remote management: For enhanced security and centralized control, an optional cybersecure network management card enables remote monitoring, power management, and secure access. This feature is ideal for IT teams seeking proactive power protection, monitored UPS status, graceful shutdown automation, and integration with existing network management practices.

How to install Eaton 5P 750VA UPS

  • Prepare the rack: Confirm there is a stable 19" rack with adequate mounting rails. The UPS is designed for 2U height and 16 inches of depth, so ensure adjacent equipment does not obstruct airflow or cable routing.
  • Mount the UPS: Secure the Eaton 5P into the rack using the provided rails or hardware. Align the unit so the outlets and front-panel indicators remain accessible for easy status checks and maintenance.
  • Connect to power: Plug the 5P input cord into a dedicated 120V AC circuit, ensuring the circuit can handle the anticipated load. Avoid plugging nonessential devices into the UPS if you expect heavy load, and distribute devices across the 10 outlets to optimize runtime and protection.
  • Attach protected equipment: Plug servers, storage devices, VoIP phones, switches, and other critical equipment into the 10 NEMA 5-15R outlets. Reserve noncritical peripherals if needed to optimize battery runtime for essential devices during an outage.
  • Enable management options: If you are using the Cybersecure Network Card Option, install the card per the included manual and connect to your network management system. Install the latest drivers or software supplied by Eaton to enable monitoring, alerts, and graceful shutdown automation.
  • Initial power-on and configuration: Power on the UPS and verify that status LEDs or the LCD (if present) indicate normal operation. Configure alert thresholds, notification methods, and shutdown policies via the management software or on-device controls. Run a controlled power-off test to confirm that protected devices shut down gracefully when needed.
  • Maintenance and battery care: Periodically exercise the UPS and battery to ensure reliability. Schedule battery health checks according to your organization’s maintenance plan. If battery replacement is required, follow Eaton’s guidelines for safe replacement to restore full runtime capacity.

Frequently asked questions

  • What does 750VA / 600W mean for my equipment? The VA (volt-ampere) rating reflects the apparent power the UPS can support, while the W (watt) rating represents real power. This unit supports up to about 600 watts of real power for connected devices, with some overhead to handle surge events and AVR operations. The actual runtime depends on the load and battery condition, but the system is designed to keep critical devices running long enough for a safe shutdown during outages.
  • Is the Eaton 5P a True Sine Wave UPS? Yes. The True Sine Wave output provides a clean, stable AC waveform that closely matches utility power, which is important for protecting servers, storage devices, network equipment, and VoIP hardware from irregular power and noise.
  • How many outlets does it have and what types? The unit includes 10 x NEMA 5-15R outlets for protecting multiple devices within a single rack. The input connection is the standard NEMA 5-15P for 120V operation. This configuration is designed for typical North American installations.
  • What is the Cybersecure Network Card Option? The Cybersecure Network Card is an optional management card that enables secure remote monitoring and management of the UPS. It allows IT teams to track UPS status, receive alerts, perform safe shutdowns, and integrate UPS performance data with existing network management and monitoring infrastructure.
  • Can I mount this UPS in a standard 19" rack? Yes. The Eaton 5P is specifically designed as a 2U rack-mount UPS with a 16-inch depth, making it well-suited for network closets and small data centers where space is at a premium.
  • What should I consider for installation and maintenance? Plan for proper ventilation and cable management in the rack, distribute the load across outlets, and deploy the optional network management card if you require remote visibility. Regularly test battery health and perform graceful shutdown tests to ensure protection for your critical equipment during outages.

Does the job, easy use, a bit bulky not exactly as described
Size: 12 Pairs / 24 pcs
Bare wire can be intolerable to work with. Banana plugs make a positive secure connection. These plugs are a touch bulky. Nice to not have to deal with small screws. Use as large of gauge wire as possible. The description says no unintentional disconnections. I beg to differ the bite of teeth aren’t as good as described. Used a 16 gauge pure copper speaker wire and a teenager taught me how secure the wire really is by tugging on the wire not the banana plug pulling the wire free. It does the job, it’s not the latest and greatest. If you need easy get these. If you want slim secure banana plugs buy the small screw type.

GET THEM!!
Size: 12 Pairs / 24 pcs, Size: 12 Pairs / 24 pcs
Fully gold plated inside and out! I initially got the amazon basic connectors for the same price, but was disappointed in the tiny burgundy positive label they had. It was also very dirty inside the connector and it wasn’t gold plated through out the connector. These are excellent in quality and have a bright red ban on the connector! You wont be disappointed and beats out Sewell connectors for the price!

Decent, but be careful of frequent use.
Size: 12 Pairs / 24 pcs, Size: 12 Pairs / 24 pcs
The looks are very nice, functional if left alone once assembled. After that I would leave them alone otherwise you risk the main male portion just coming loose of the housing, sound quality is decent, nothing to write home about, but again, not very durable. If they could fix that 1 thing, these would be very good buy and value, the rest of each plug is hefty and well made.

Great Banana Plugs
Size: 6 Pairs / 12 pcs
I recently purchased these FosPower banana plugs to tidy up my speaker wiring, and they’ve been a significant improvement over bare wire ends. Installation is straightforward: strip the wire, loosen the two tiny set screws, slide the wire in, tighten everything down, and then screw the barrel back on. Once assembled, the connection feels secure and tight, making it much easier to swap gear around and reducing the risk of stray strands causing a short. The standout feature of this design is the dual set-screw clamp. It firmly grips the speaker wire without relying on the outer collar to “crush” it in place. I’m using 12-gauge wire, and it holds well for my setup. Initially, the plugs may fit snugly in some binding posts. Once seated, there’s no wobble, but it might take a bit of extra push the first time. The set screws are small, so a bit of precision is needed. Use a small flathead screwdriver and don’t over-tighten them. Overall, these plugs feel well-made, look clean once installed, and fulfill their purpose as banana plugs: making speaker connections quick, neat, and reliable.
