The beige 4266 CORE+ Omnidirectional Flex Headset Microphone from DPA combines the sound of the 4066 omnidirectional capsule and CORE+ amplifier in a lightweight and flexible dual-ear headset. The ultra-comfortable design means the person wearing the microphone will barely notice its presence, making it well suited to conference, speech, broadcast, and live-performance applications.
The ergonomic 4266 easily adjusts to fit any ear size and head shape, while at the same time, it mounts securely and is hardly visible. By rotating the boom and the ear hook, the microphone can be used on either the left or the right ear. The modular design allows the connector cable to split from the microphone boom, making it easy to swap out broken cables and/or wireless connectors quickly and easily without having to replace the entire microphone. The long 110mm boom arm is also interchangeable and two protective caps are included that allow you to alter the mic's high-frequency response to suit your application and preference.
The modular design allows you to adapt the 4266's MicroDot connector to a wide variety of transmitters simply by purchasing the compatible adapter—saving you the expense of buying another microphone.
Normal Headroom for Standard Speech
The 4266 CORE+ features a sensitive 5.4mm electret-condenser capsule designed for standard speech and vocal applications at levels up to 134 dB SPL RMS and 137 dB SPL peak before producing < 1% distortion. The mic can even handle up to 144 dB SPL with only 10% distortion, making it well suited to a variety of presenters and performers.
Microphones with CORE+ provide even more clarity across the entire dynamic range, from low to high sound pressure levels. Miniature microphones with CORE+ provide unheard levels of openness. While CORE allows mics to handle higher SPLs without significant artifacts up to 1% THD, CORE+ eliminates those artifacts completely.
The forgiving omnidirectional pickup pattern captures sound from all around the mic and provides a consistent frequency response, even for off-axis sound. This helps to supply clear, intelligible speech and vocals with consistent volume levels while reducing vocal plosives and handling noise.
The pre-fitted Soft-Boost Grid gives a 3 dB soft boost at 8 to 20 kHz range. Alternatively, the High-Boost Grid introduces a 10 dB boost around 12 kHz for applications where additional top-end high-frequencies are desired. Both grids are made of tough and scratch-resistant anodized stainless steel, allowing them to be detached and cleaned.
The headset sits securely around the head and is ideal for active performance situations where the person wearing the headset won't feel the presence of the microphone. It is ergonomically designed to fit comfortably and easily. This mic adjusts to fit any ear size and head shape while at the same time it mounts securely and is hardly visible. Engineered with a double-vent protection system, the 4266 is certified IP58 for dust and moisture resistance. The rugged 4.1' cable is built with Kevlar strain relief to survive the constant twists, bends, and pulls that are part of everyday use in harsh environments.
