The microphone comes with a field-interchangeable, twist-off-twist-on (TOTO) omnidirectional electret condenser capsule from Beyerdynamic. It has a wide natural frequency response and is designed for interviews in quiet environments. It features shockmount isolation, which protects your recordings from noise due to handheld use. You can quickly switch between different TOTO capsules (not included) in the field to suit your recording requirements. TOTO's auto-sensing detects which type of mic head you're using and automatically adapts the DSP to the right parameters, with no need for any manual settings.

The iXm Uplink app, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play, allows you to play back, save, edit, and transfer your audio clips on your iOS or Android device. You can send your recordings to your studio instantly and enjoy helpful features like meta tags. The iXm also comes pre-loaded with a customizable toolkit that allows you to set your own personal preferences. It includes a multilevel password-protection system that makes it easy to control and design sound parameters, and it even offers individual configuration preferences.
