The Aero Cu Coax applies the same Aerogel dielectric technology as Hapa Audio's RCA interconnects to the S/PDIF digital cable application. Why BNC for Digital

S/PDIF is a 75-ohm protocol. RCA connectors are not designed for 75-ohm impedance — they're close, but impedance discontinuities at the connector create reflections in the digital signal that increase jitter. BNC connectors are precision 75-ohm by design. For digital audio, BNC termination is technically superior to RCA for this reason. Most source components with BNC outputs were designed by engineers who understand this distinction.

The Aerogel Dielectric
