The Fujifilm GS645S Professional is a medium format fixed-lens rangefinder camera introduced in the 1980s, designed for 6×4.5 cm exposures on 120 roll film (15 frames per roll). Unlike its folding GS645 predecessor, the GS645S features a rigid, non-collapsible body with integrated lens protection via a permanent hood and rubberized bumper.
It is equipped with a Fujinon W 60mm f/4 lens (approx. 35mm equivalent in 35mm format), featuring a 5-element, 4-group optical construction. The lens includes a leaf shutter with speeds from 1s to 1/500s plus Bulb, and supports flash sync at all speeds via hot shoe or PC socket.
Focusing is manual via a coupled rangefinder, with a focusing knob located on the camera's right-hand side. The viewfinder includes brightlines and automatic parallax correction. Exposure is manual only, aided by a built-in center-weighted CdS light meter with LED readout visible in the finder.
The GS645S has a robust, utilitarian design with a lightweight fiberglass-reinforced plastic body (approx. 1kg loaded), and it’s engineered for field reliability. Film advance and shutter cocking are mechanically linked via a single-stroke lever. It supports 120 film only, with no 220 capability.
The camera is known for compactness relative to its format, reliable optics, and quick handling for a medium format rangefinder.
