About the Author and Illustrator

The author got her inspiration for this book from reading the Berenstain Bears and Dr. Seuss books to her children. Also as a hostess of many picnics herself, she wanted to convey the message that hard work brings about just rewards. She received a B.A. in English with a specialty in creative writing, a paralegal certificate and also completed part of an M.B.A. Shes worked in the legal field for twenty years, the last ten of which have been part-time so she could spend more time with her children. The illustrator has already illustrated three other books for a national publisher. She graduated with a bachelor of fine arts degree with emphasis in illustrating and painting, and was a high school art teacher for almost thirty years. When her niece (the author!) told her about the idea for a childrens book, she jumped on the bandwagon and here they are!
