”At first, we had mostly Chinese. We stocked Ng Ka Pi, a red rice whisky, and Mui Kwei Lu, a grain drink flavored with flowers, both imported from Shanghai. Hawaii used to manufacture sake—had five breweries. We also imported from Japan. Then the Filipinos came, and from Manila, we imported Ginebra gin, Archibar red liquor, Tinto Seco and Tinto Dulce Seco wines". —Kash Kuboyama

Mrs. Kash was a sweetheart. She would give credit to anyone and carried some customers for years. The Kuboyamas also sold marriage licenses. Many a couple stopped in for a license and a few bottles of champagne on the way to their wedding. Kash and Mrs. Kash also cooked and sold peanuts boiled in salty water—encouraging customers to drink more beer. When the hippies came they stocked Zig Zag rolling papers. Smaht Buggahs!

"Kapaa Liquor and Wine Company" is one of the most beautiful prints I've made in over 50 years of printing. — John Wehrheim

PHOTO PRINTS
Prints are on Hahnemuhle heavyweight (315 gsm) 100% archival cotton “Photo Rag Baryta” paper, using archival inks and archival spray coating. They have a 200-year life expectancy before any deterioration of the print will be observed when stored, handled, and displayed under archival conditions.

CANVAS PRINTS
What is often called “Gallery Wrap Canvas” is a fine art inkjet (Giclee) print on canvas, with printed edges to wrap around a wooden stretcher frame, like a painting. With canvas prints, your print image is still the same size, but given a "wrap effect" around the edges to account for the thickness of the stretcher. Canvas can be rolled and shipped with no effect to the print. Your local framing shop should be able to mount the canvas to stretchers at a fraction of the cost of traditional framing, making for an overall more economical way to get fine art on your wall. The canvas is printed to wrap around a 1-inch stretcher (1.5 inches on larger sizes). Specifications will be provided with your order. Feel free to contact us if you need guidance with your canvas order.

John prints, titles, dates, and signs all of his photos.

Saves a Ton of Soap
Really great product if you wanna save soap bars and not have to buy new ones every couple of weeks. Not as scratchy as I thought it would be and it can be a bit awkward to use. Still a good product though.

It’s practical, user-friendly, and tailored for law enforcement needs.
Format: Paperback
This book has been an absolute gem as I prepare to apply for a law enforcement job where Spanish is a required skill. It’s well-organized, easy to follow, and covers practical vocabulary and phrases that are directly relevant to real-world scenarios. Not only is it incredibly useful, but it’s also engaging and fun to use, making learning feel less like a chore. The structure allows me to focus on the most important phrases for law enforcement situations, and it’s already helping me feel more confident about communicating effectively in Spanish.

Focused and Relevant
Format: Paperback, Format: Paperback
I’m new to learning Spanish. I’ve been at it for only about 9 months, but I chose to learn it for my job as a 911 dispatcher. This book was recommended to me by my Spanish tutor who has a family member that is a cop. This book contains SO many job relevant words, phrases, and cultural tips that I am learning a ton! And the book breaks things down by type. For example, the “traffic” chapter is a little less relevant to me as a dispatcher because I won’t be doing traffic stops or field sobriety tests. But there are also sections dotted throughout the book that are very relevant to dispatcher phone interrogation. Very pleased with this book, now they just need to write one specifically FOR dispatch. :D
