As you learn and tackle tasks, you'll be accompanied by two main characters: Ramsy the Ram and his good friend, Barky the Wolf. The designation ÒA1Ó in the book title refers to the basic level of complexity (denoted by ÒAÓ) and the first part (denoted by Ò1Ó). The goal of the first volume is to introduce readers to the fundamentals of the Clojure programming language, including symbolic expressions, arithmetic, truth values, and basic data structures (vectors). Through the examples provided, we aim to make readers aware that common tasks they encounter in mathematics textbooks can be equally well expressed in the language of programming. We are taking this path because programming, as both a skill and an art, has many connections with mathematics, primarily in how it encourages individuals to think and develop their abstract reasoning abilities. This is precisely what we aim to promote through our book.
The book is designed as a textbook with a workbook component. It is thematically divided into 25 chapters. Within each chapter, you will become acquainted with new concepts and principles alongside our heroes. You will also have the opportunity to apply your ingenuity when solving problems.
Thanks to the graded complexity of the tasks, this book is suitable for readers of all age groups, regardless of their prior experience. You will find examples suitable for children as young as seven, as well as challenges that can engage much older readers.
