Weighted Basketball Training

Help Your Player Make the Regular Ball Feel Easier to Control

Every parent wants to see their player look stronger, more confident, and more prepared when the game speeds up. But when pressure hits, weak passes, loose dribbles, and soft rebounds can make a player look unsure fast.

This weighted indoor composite basketball gives players a more demanding way to train dribbling, passing, rebounding, and controlled form-shooting strength — so regular-ball reps can feel lighter, quicker, and more confident.

  • They struggle to fire strong passes on time.
  • They get bumped off rebounds or lose the ball in traffic.
  • They want deeper shooting range, but the ball dies short.

The goal is not just more practice. The goal is practice that helps your player look more prepared, more serious, and more confident when the ball finds them.

Men 29.5" — 3 lbs.
Women 28.5" — 2.75 lbs.
Composite leather training ball

Composite leather weighted basketball for stronger dribbling, passing, rebounding, and form-shooting work.

Available in men’s 29.5" and women’s 28.5" training sizes.

Built for focused basketball training reps, not casual shooting around.

Deep channels and composite feel help players stay in control during demanding reps.

Why This Matters

When the ball feels heavy in the game, confidence disappears

Your player may love basketball, work hard, and still struggle when the game gets physical. They may dribble well casually, but get loose with the ball against pressure. They may know where the pass should go, but not deliver it with enough force. They may get two hands on a rebound, but fail to secure it strongly.

That is the kind of stuff coaches notice.

Better reps create better confidence. That is where a weighted basketball can help.

The HoopsKing Solution

A stronger-feeling basketball that makes focused reps count more

This weighted indoor basketball gives players a more demanding training tool for skill work. Used the right way, it can help build stronger hands, stronger passing habits, stronger rebounding control, and better feel with a normal basketball after training.

1

Train with resistance

The added weight makes dribbling, catching, passing, rebounding, and form shooting more demanding than a regular ball.

2

Build cleaner habits

Players have to stay more intentional with their hands, wrists, and upper body, which encourages sharper training focus.

3

Switch back to a regular ball

After weighted-ball work, the normal basketball can feel lighter and easier to control — a confidence boost players can feel in workouts.

How This Training Aid Helps

Basketball-specific benefits players can actually train for

Stronger ball control

The heavier feel challenges a player’s handle and helps build more discipline in dribbling drills.

Crisper passing habits

Passing drills with a weighted basketball can help players train stronger wrists, forearms, and follow-through.

Rebounding strength

Using a heavier basketball in rebounding drills can help players secure the ball firmly instead of bobbling it on contact.

Form-shooting strength work

Used properly in controlled form shooting, the added weight can help players build strength through the arms and shoulders.

Why Parents Buy This

Because parents want to help without guessing

Parents cannot control every outcome in basketball. They cannot control which player the coach already trusts. They cannot control who gets the first touch, the open shot, or the late-game opportunity.

But they can help their player train with more intent.

This weighted basketball gives parents a practical way to support stronger off-court development — especially for players who need more strength with the ball, more confidence as passers, and more toughness securing rebounds.

What parents are really buying

  • More purposeful reps at home or in the gym
  • A player who feels stronger with the ball
  • Better preparation before tryouts, season, and game nights
  • More belief from the player that they belong in tough moments
  • A simple training tool that supports real basketball habits

You cannot promise your child more minutes. But you can help them show up looking more prepared for the minutes they get.

Built for Coaches Too

A useful training ball for workouts, stations, and team skill development

Practice stations

Coaches can plug this weighted basketball into ball-handling stations, partner passing work, or rebounding toughness drills without overcomplicating practice.

Skill trainers and camps

Trainers can use it to add challenge to controlled reps and create clearer progression between strength-based skill work and normal-ball work.

Team development

It is a smart option for youth, middle school, high school, and training settings where players need stronger hands, better passes, and more intentional ball control.

Who It's For

A strong fit for players who need more command of the ball

Youth players
who are ready for more challenging skill work with supervision.
Middle school players

High school players
working to look more physical and confident in games.
Players fighting for more minutes
who need better reps outside team practice.
Parents
building an at-home training setup that actually gets used.
Coaches and trainers
who want a simple but demanding tool for skill stations.
Players doing two-ball work

Players working on form shooting
who want controlled strength-oriented repetition.
Training Ideas

Simple ways to put it to work right away

1. Ball-handling warm-up block

Use the weighted basketball for 5–10 minutes of pound dribbles, crossovers, between-the-legs, and low control dribbles before switching to a regular ball.

2. Partner passing series

Use chest passes, bounce passes, and quick-reaction passing drills to train stronger, more intentional delivery.

3. Rebounding control work

Toss the ball off the glass or use a partner to simulate rebounds, then focus on securing the ball firmly with strong hands and elbows.

4. Controlled form shooting

Use short-range form shooting with disciplined mechanics to build feel and strength. Then switch to a normal ball to feel the difference.

5. Two-ball challenge progression

If you own two weighted basketballs, use simple two-ball dribbling and rhythm drills to challenge coordination and concentration even more.

FAQ

Common questions parents, players, and coaches ask

What does a weighted basketball help with?

A weighted basketball is commonly used to challenge ball handling, passing, rebounding control, and controlled strength-oriented shooting work. The goal is better feel, stronger habits, and more focused reps.

Is this mostly for dribbling or shooting?

This ball fits best for dribbling and passing work, and it is also useful for rebounding drills. It can also be used in controlled form shooting to help players work on strength and range development.

What size and weight options are available?

The current product options are Men 29.5" at 3 lbs. and Women 28.5" at 2.75 lbs.

Is this good for youth players?

It can be, but younger players should use it with supervision and good judgment. The added weight is more demanding than a standard basketball, so it is best used in controlled training, not random high-volume reps.

Can my child use this at home?

Yes, many parents use tools like this for driveway, home-court, or gym workouts. Short, focused sessions are usually better than long, sloppy ones.

Does this come with training guidance?

The ball includes access to free training content through the QR code on the ball.

Should a player train with one or two weighted basketballs?

One is plenty for most players. Two weighted basketballs can create a tougher two-ball challenge for advanced dribbling and passing progressions if a player is ready for it.

Will this guarantee more playing time?

No training aid can guarantee playing time. What it can do is help a player get better, more demanding reps so they have a better chance to look ready and confident when opportunity comes.

Give your player more than hope. Give them better reps.

Players usually do not become more confident by accident. Confidence grows when they feel stronger, more prepared, and more in control of the ball. If your player needs that edge in dribbling, passing, rebounding, or strength-based ball work, this weighted basketball is a smart place to start.

Very detailed! Beautiful world building! Strong Heroine!
Format: Kindle
Starts off a little slow and confusing with different POV’s, but starts to all come together towards the middle to make an elaborate plot line and makes it all worth it. Beautiful world building and attention to detail as well as great writing. The cliffhanger was gut wrenching! Can’t wait for the next book!

Interesting
Format: Kindle
This was a very captivating book once you got into it thoroughly. But the third person perspective was a bit hard to get used to. But as you got into it and followed the different characters, it was interesting and filled with intrigue, conflict and forbidden love. I can’t wait to read the next one and to complete the series.

OUTSTANDING
Format: Kindle
This was very, very good. The world is vast and characters are complex. There is a good plot with a whole lot going on. This is well written. Good twists and turns and some heart breaking moments. You will love these characters, they have heart and loyalty. I am hoping that there will be several more books. We've yet to see anything from the Sea Court but only a mention of them here and there. The Wood Court was given a quick couple of scenes, and only as far as some warriors, we've yet to enter their court and the Shadow Court, I'm not sure if they will be a force for good or bad, but they definitely will play a much bigger role moving forward. This is primarily the Ice and Air Courts. Told in multiple views, which I loved, it gives you a chance to see things from different eyes. There's alot of political maneuvering and deception. I loved it and will pick up the next book as it becomes available. If you like The Fae and the courts, you should love this. I think the author has mucn in store for us.

Definitely worth the read!
Format: Kindle
After taking a deep breath and taking in that wicked twist of an ending, I have finally composed myself. My first thought when I started this book was that I love Reyna's character. I was intrigued by her connection with her familiar and the Ruin that is plaguing her land. It came as no surprise that she took her sister's place in an attempt to protect her. When they reach the Air Court everything slows down. This is where it was iffy for me. First of all, I like multiple POV's in books however 7 is a bit much. It starts to interrupt the story line. I felt like I was finally making progress connecting with one character, then it was switched to another person. I felt they all had necessary or pertinent information but not necessarily were they all POV worthy. The only other thing that annoyed me was that Reyna constantly was " trapped." She would rush off without thinking, only to need rescuing. She is brilliant in a fight, but she really doesn't think through anything. Lorcan is amazing. I know he might be on the "bad" list, but his background is so interesting. Eislyn(Reyna's sister) is really so sweet, but calculating. I enjoyed her and Thane's dialogue. The author did an amazing job with the imagery in this book. Everything was so detailed it was easy to fall into the scene. I love unexpected twists and while part of the ending I expected, I wasn't expecting how it took place. All in all, I found it very entertaining and I am very invested in continuing this series. Favorite quotes: "The truth may be twisted but never false." "Who was she if she was not the enemy of the Air Court? What was her purpose of she no longer has that?" "In a war-torn land, love was always a lie."

Great Read!!! Great story!!!
Format: Kindle
The series is long, but Ms. Wolfhart does a fantastic job of weaving this tale while bringing so much to the characters. Surprises and plot twists along the way to keep you intrigued. There is some graphic sex, but is no way the focal point. Grammar was excellent (a rare find with a lot of self publishers) with only a few noted errors. I rarely give 4 stars, let alone 5.
