Previously unreleased, the three tracks on Pays Noir come from recording sessions held at the same time as those for the cult album No Man's Land (FFL 026LP), produced by Jef Gilson in 1976, and published on vinyl by Souffle Continu Records in 2017. Singled out at the time of it's release by Actuel, Rock & Folk, and Melody Maker, the tabula rasa of No Man's Land is the result of free-flowing experiments born of chance, if the two musicians are to be believed. Indeed, their approach to free improvisation was uninfluenced by those in the know of what was going on in such circles, which makes it even more incredible. To emphasize the point, the saxophonist Evan Parker (already a leader in the field) remarked on the album at the time, surprised by the innovation of the two Frenchmen. Brimming with the same fervor as No Man's Land, mainly on guitar and drums (but once again, not only...), Jean-François Pauvros and Gaby Bizien invent an amazing unbridled chaos of instinctive combinations, which are the fruit of their immense complicity, born of days on end playing together, trying to transform the rebelliousness of rock into free-form sparks unlike anything heard before, and which are often poetic - ah, that final song! Carried along by the frenzied clatter of Gaby Bizien, Jean-François Pauvros emerges without doubt as one the great French improvising guitarists, alongside Gérard Marais (Dharma Quintet, Stu Martin Trio), Joseph Dejean (Cohelmec Ensemble, The Full Moon Ensemble), Raymond Boni (who, like Pauvros and Bizien, is present on the Nurse With Wound list), Dominique Répécaud, Noël Akchoté, and Jean-Marc Montera. Furthermore, the duo has a crazy intensity heard only on recordings by duos such as Bill Orcutt and Chris Corsano, Arto Lindsay and Paal Nilssen-Love, Thurston Moore and John Moloney, and Mesa Of The Lost Women. Cute but…

I think this is really cute and a good weight. I expected it to be bigger but it’s about the size of squirrel. The product itself was packaged well and arrived with no damage and had some charge to it already that I was able to test it out right away. It has three small lights that light up a warm yellow but are strong enough to highlight the angel. It has a solar strip on the side of it. It’s a very pretty design but one of the first things I noticed was the angels head was dipped so low that I couldn’t see her face without picking up the statue and looking at it or squatting down to get eye level with it.it would have to be displayed on a higher area or an inclined area to get the full effect of its design. I think the price listed is high for the size and material of the product. I would pay $15-18 for this. If the design was larger and the head was lifted up a bit then I would pay the list price of $27.

Beautiful Angel Girl with Birds!!
Just buy it so seeet. I purchased 3 for Morhers day one for my Aunt, one for my sister, and one for myself. Love the pastel colored birds that add color during the day when not lit. Birds light pretty at night I love mine and keep it on a shelf in my screened in porch, so I can enjoy it daily!!!

Beautiful Solar Angel Garden Statue
I honestly teared up a little when I opened this because it’s even more beautiful in person than I expected from the listing. The angel design with the birds perched across the arms is peaceful and eye catching, and once it’s placed in the garden it really becomes a focal point. I positioned mine in a sunny spot and surrounded the base with a few decorative stones to help hold it in place since the statue itself is fairly lightweight. The solar feature works great, I’ve had it outside charging during the day and the birds automatically glow at night with a soft warm light that looks really pretty once the sun goes down. It gives off a calm, cozy glow that makes the yard feel really inviting in the evenings. The resin construction seems durable for outdoor use and overall the detail is really nice for the price point, though if you look very closely you can see a little bit of glue around the birds. Once it’s set up outside though, those little details fade away and the overall effect is just beautiful. Overall I’m really impressed with this piece and it’s a lovely addition to the garden.
