The 18" Long Life Newari Gong on Spirit Guide Stand is hand-crafted and beautifully engraved from bronze. Each gong presents a rich, bell-like sound with a bright, complex fundamental tone. They build to a bright, complex but concentrated wash, wrapping you in a bath of overtones.
They are engraved with a mesmerizing pattern and the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum" around the rim. We've named this gong for the Newar people, a linguistic and cultural community that has historically lived in the Kathmandu Valley in Nepal going back thousands of years through today. It is a celebration of enduring culture and spirit.
We've paired it with our Spirit Guide Gong Stand. This wooden gong stand is great on the floor or on a large table. It's beautiful aesthetically, and perfect for gentle, meditative playing. This stand holds the gong in a manner that makes it hard to take off and put the gong back on quickly, so it is not ideal for traveling.
