#EC189 EXACT Trichocereus "Mutt" Cactus Cuttings 36”+I had to cut a bunch of pieces, shorts, longs, mids and tips. This listing is for 36+ of Mutt, maybe 1 long piece, or a couple smaller that equal 36 +. These are not show specimens, theyve been hard grown, no water all summer but that just means they&re not pampered, rather tough, like a mutt. Also, when cactus come from large stands, the inner side of columns tend to have far more imperfections, discolorations, scars etc from bumping into each other

These are not show specimens, they’ve been hard grown, no water all summer but that just means they&re not pampered, rather tough, like a mutt. Also, when cactus come from large stands, the inner side of columns tend to have far more imperfections, discolorations, scars etc from bumping into each other and minimal light for some tight growing, don’t sweat it, they’re healthy!

Mutt and its’ story.

This big stand of Trichocereus is at our nursery front gate. I caught a guy taking a piece once and chased him down in my car. He showed me the cutting and I told him to follow me back to the nursery. He did. Not sure if I was dumb chasing him down over a piece of cactus, or he was dumber following me back to my nursery? I cut him a nice clean piece and took the ugly piece he had taken. He came back a handful of times over the next few years to buy more cuttings. True story, a few details missing.
Bob at MISPLANT called this guy Mutt. Shows a lot of different looks, inconsistent spines, short long and none. Glaucus/farina, does great here in any weather, hardgrown, no water all summer. I don’t think Bob was being complimentary when he called this trich Mutt, but I like Bob a lot(checkout his website if you want seeds!), but I tend to think of the name in a positive manner, many of my favorite dogs in life have been mutts, some of the smartest most loyal friends I’ve had.
