A Stroboscope is an instrument that creates an illusion of slowed or stopped motion by flashing short bursts of light in synchronization with a cyclically moving object. Models include LED and Xenon light sources and come in various sizes and control options.
A. Digital / Student Mini: Displays the exact speed of a moving device, allowing for easy visual examination without the need for measurement.
B. Digital / XE Model: Displays the exact speed of motion using a bright flashing light, and can also capture 'Frozen' Images with its large reflector. The instrument is microprocessor controlled and crystal locked.
C. Digital / XEH Model: Displays the speed of motion with a bright flashing light and a stationary image. Its large reflector enhances this feature.
D. Hand Whirling / Adjustable Slits: Creates an interrupted view of a moving object, allowing it to appear stationary. Its slits act as a shutter, letting the observer see an object at a specific position each time. By altering the frequency of the shutter, a slow motion effect can be achieved. The kit includes a vibrating spring blade for attachment to a bench.
E. Motorized / Variable Speed: Has a gear drive and electronic speed control for stable output speed and protection against over-voltage. It's suitable for student use and can be held in a retort stand.
