LP version. In the early 1970s, a devastating drought brought famine to the West African Sahel. This environmental disaster destroyed the region's agricultural and livestock economy. Millions of people were affected. International relief efforts tried to send emergency aid. "Les Bateaux", the title track of this album, recalls those hard years. It paints a scene of Malian villagers standing on the banks of the Niger River anxiously awaiting the boats carrying food. Mamadou Kelly remembers those years as he calls out the name of each boat's longed for appearance over the horizon. Kelly sings about life. He praises and thanks those who do admirable things. He evokes the spirits of collective memory. Seemingly simple, upon listening, his songs reveal multi-layered complexity. He is a master of the desert blues. His group on this album includes longtime colleague Aly Magassa (electric guitar), Kande Sissoko (ngoni), and Hamadoun "Afo" Guindo (percussion). They are joined on tracks by Malian musicians Adama Sidibe (balafon(, Madou Diabate (violin), and Hama Sangho (backup vocal), as well as American friends Jacob Silver (bass), Cindy Cashdollar (lap steel guitar), and David Rothenberg (clarinets). Les Bateaux was recorded live in Bamako and New York. The tracks were mixed in New York and Los Angeles, and mastered in New York.

love this bag so much!
Color: White, Color: White
this bag is awesome. i didn’t realize how similar it looked to the brooklyn coach bags! it’s good quality and holds a LOT. also super cute. the material is nice and you can wear it anywhere, dressed down or up. it’s nice and smooth! and the zipper feels pretty secure. i’ve had this bag for a couple months now and it’s still holding up great 🤍 i’ll have to buy more colors i can fit a full size round hair brush, a bag of all my makeup, my wallet, 3 pairs of keys, a full size stick deodorant, a full size spray deodorant, tons of lip products, gum, oil blotting papers… i mean it’s roomy. and i bring basically everything with me at all times, so if i approve then im sure you guys will too, lol

Very Nice Purse
Color: Black
I love the look, soft leather and good quality. Although the size indicates small, I would say it is medium size.

Good value
Color: Beige-3
I really like this bag. It looks more expensive than it is. I get a lot of compliments. Roomie and lightweight. Just the right size for my purposes.

Perfect size for me!
Color: Black
I've had this bag for several months! It's in GREAT condition for the price that I got it for! I've had one maybe a couple stitches on the handle fray a little bit, but other than that it's holding up amazingly! Surprisingly it holds a lot, wallet, keys, small makeup bag, and a smaller bag for hair ties, pins, tampons and whatnot. It's very soft, the color doesn't fade! The material isn't hard leather, it's very maluable, making it fit wherever you put it, which is exactly what I was looking for. When this one eventually wears out, I'll 100% buy another one again because it's small and it matches every single one of my outfits!

Cute but cheaply made
Color: Black
I love this bag so much. However, I had to purchase twice because the first one broke due to the fabric on the inside catching on the zipper and when I tried to undo it, it ripped. The second bag still has problems with the zipper but it has stayed in good condition. The bag holds quite a lot and it’s really good. Overall I would say that bad is cheap but also lasts? Just be cautious of the zipper.
