Wishkah, Washington—a small town filled with kindness, hard-working people, and a little bit of mystery, but most of all, unshaken family values. In 1943, during World War II, ten-year-old Karin, her younger sister, and her mother move to Wishkah from Tacoma, embarking on what would be a two-year stay, but ultimately leading to a lifetime of memories.

This story is about author Karli Tyler Fuller’s mother, Karin, and highlights what Fuller’s mother shared with her as a significant experience at this time in her life. Fuller’s mother also shared with her the pain and anguish over the mental suffering of her younger sister at a time when mental illness was seldom openly discussed.

Karli Tyler Fuller’s mother was an extremely private person, but Fuller always found it fascinating that she cherished her two school years at Wishkah as two of the happiest years of her life. When questioned why this was so, she could not articulate exactly why; however, she did allude to the peace and stability she enjoyed while there, and the fact she adored the surrounding countryside. Fuller believes we all sometimes long for a simpler time, a time that seems less stressful than the world we must deal with as adults. Through the story of Wishkah, Karli Tyler Fuller celebrates her mother’s vision of this time in her life and how it affected her.

Wishkah is an incredibly endearing tale portrayed through the eyes of a ten to eleven-year-old young girl, exploring the new world around her while growing and learning valuable life lessons along the way. Join Karin in what author Karli Tyler Fuller’s mother often said were the two happiest years of her life.

About the Author

Author Karli Tyler Fuller was educated at the University of Washington as a K-8 schoolteacher. However, she found herself traveling differing paths than she had intended and never did teach full time. This did not keep Fuller from enjoying the company of school-aged children and appreciating the things valuable to them. Even in this time of advanced technology, social media, concerns about bullying, and so many other worries, kids still want the same basic things: to feel safe, valued, understood, and hopeful. Besides writing, Fuller enjoys gardening, quilting, genealogy research, and music.

Works great, could use a better sprayer
Style: Kids SPF 50, Size: 5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I gave it 4 stars ONLY because I've had the nozzle break on at least 1 of these. So they could improve the way it sprays, but overall I'm very happy with the product. It keeps my whole family from getting burned and goes on clear. I love this because my kids always complain that they don't like the whitecast, so this one is a keeper!

Really nice sunscreen
Style: Kids SPF 50, Size: 5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I always buy kids sunscreen because everything else burns my eyes. I haven't notices this stuff burning. It smells really nice and doesn't feel yucky going on like some stuff does.

DOESNT SPRAY do not buy
Style: Kids SPF 50, Size: 5 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
Doesn’t work AT ALL. And I’m annoyed because it’s not eligible for return even with prime. What am I supposed to do with a sunscreen that won’t spray? YES, it’s in thru blocked position, it will not spray. I’d love my money back please.

Do NOT buy, it’s literal poison. Has forever chemicals.
Style: SPF 50 Spray Mineral Sunscreen, Size: 4.5 Ounce (1 Pack), Style: SPF 50 Spray Mineral Sunscreen, Size: 4.5 Ounce (1 Pack)
🚨do NOT buy this🚨It has forever chemicals in it - Tetrafluoropropene. Also has Hydrogenated polydecene - The chemical structure of synthetic hydrocarbons is similar to that of MOSH, another group of petrochemical-derived ingredients. A 2016 study states that "it seems prudent to assess their safety in the same way," suggesting that they could have comparable toxic effects on the body. MOSH may accumulate in the body, particularly in lymph nodes and body fat, where they could trigger inflammatory reactions. Liver effects have also been observed experimentally in certain types of rats, but have not been confirmed in humans to date. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) recommends continuing studies to better assess the toxicity of these MOSH compounds, as "the consequences of the long-term accumulation of MOSH on human health have not been evaluated and remain uncertain." These compounds should especially be avoided in products where there is a risk of ingestion, such as lip balms and lipsticks. Moreover, the production of this ingredient has a significant environmental impact due to the extraction of hydrocarbons from underground and the high energy consumption required for its manufacture. *5 stars only so people will see this.*
