To maximize the performance of your Maverick R, the factory MG1 ECU must be unlocked to allow for custom EVP Power Flashes. Evolution Powersports offers two distinct pathways to handle this requirement, including a "Zero Downtime" option for those who want to avoid having their vehicle sitting in the garage.

ECU Unlock & Tuning Pathways

Option 1: Zero Downtime ($1,000 Refundable Core)

This is the most convenient option, allowing you to keep your vehicle operational throughout the entire process.

• How it works: EVP ships you a pre-unlocked MG1 ECU. You use the CodeShooter 2.0 App to pair the new ECU to your Maverick R instantly.

• The Core Refund: You have 14 days (30 for international) from the delivery date to return your original stock ECU. Once received and verified, the $1,000 core charge is fully refunded.

• Documentation: You must include the Sales Order/Invoice received via email with your return shipment to ensure the refund is processed correctly.

Option 2: MG1 ECU Send-In Service

A traditional method for those who can accommodate a brief service window.

• Shipping Address: Remove and send your ECU to: 2018 State Road 35, Somerset, WI 54025.

• Requirements: You must print and include the ECU Submission Form with your physical hardware.

• Timeline: The unlock takes 5–7 business days once received (expect ~1 week total with transit). During holiday or promotional periods, this may extend to 10–14 business days.

Critical Hardware Requirements

• CodeShooter Device: An EVP CodeShooter ECU Flashing Device is mandatory for all tuning options.

• Silicone Charge Tubes: Required for all Maverick R Rising Rate flashes.

  • Installation Note: You must use the auxiliary port that sees boost pressure only. Do not use the BOV vacuum/boost port.

• Existing Customers: * If you already have the X85 package, you can upgrade to Flex Fuel tuning and hardware directly via the EVP website.

  • If you are tuned for pump/race gas, please call EVP at (855) 387-8863 to coordinate your upgrade.
