Nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and the only British folk representation in the Guardian's and Uncut's best albums of last decade, The Unthanks is a family affair for Tyneside sisters Rachel and Becky Unthank, with Rachel married to pianist, producer, arranger and composer, Adrian McNally. Even though McNally has scored symphony scale arrangements for The Unthanks, all three are musically untrained, and put their collective musical vocabulary down to the music they grew up listening to, rather than playing, for which both McNally and the Unthank sisters have parents to thank. Using the traditional and folk music of the North East of England as a starting point, the influence of Steve Reich, Miles Davis, Sufjan Stevens, Robert Wyatt, Antony & the Johnsons, King Crimson and Tom Waits can be heard in theband's 7 albums to date. Mount the Air is the work of an act who still believe whole heartedly in the valueof the album as an art form. On very limited resources and makeshift facilities, they have shown extraordinary commitment and devotion to that art-form, to create their finest work yet. These bowls are a staple in both my home and now adding them to Airbnb property. They’re sturdy enough to handle soups, cereals and even heavier meals without getting soggy or collapsing too fast. I love that they’re microwave safe and compostable makes cleanup easy and eco-friendlier. The 20 oz size is generous and the pack of 6 lasts a good while for sure especially when you’re hosting guests or just want a no-fuss option for meals (or for the teenage boys and their friends coming for a quick bite). You'll appreciate the convenience, and I appreciate not having to worry about dishes piling up all the time. Design and color has some fun to it over the typical white basic kind. Definitely a good value and also doesn't have that weird scent or doesn't leave that weird taste to it.
If you’re looking for durable, disposable bowls that don’t feel flimsy, these are a solid pick.

Save Sanity (and Sinks)

These 20-ounce bowls have been a lifesaver for a big family with no time—or sanity—to spare for a sink full of dishes.
Don’t fill one with water and leave it overnight unless you’re running a paper-mâché experiment. For hot soup, I’d recommend using two bowls, but for cereal, pasta, snacks, or fruit, they’re perfect.
I even found one that had been left outside in the rain for a few days and it still hadn’t disintegrated—so sturdiness gets bonus points.
Also, three scoops of ice cream plus toppings? Tested and verified.
If you value your peace of mind more than your dish pile, these are the bowls you’re looking for.
