Iron workers, construction crews and munitions makers show us the gritty, tiring work of a community and emphasize the man and animal power once common in industry. There are social changes as well, like the coming of women to the workplace. Shirtwaisted ladies at the Illinois Watch Company and "Rosie the Riveter" on the production line during the war make their appearance. Aerial views of the downtown area present a century of change in Springfield. The evolution of transportation in the community is chronicled, from horse and buggy to the railroad to the automobile. Images of ladies cooking at Temple and crews preparing community garden plots showcase the city's volunteer service heritage. Commonplace images of life in Springfield, such as children at play, shopping, parades, and the first day of school, are all presented here. But the less common events are included as well: fires, the race riot, even a baptism at Lake Springfield. Together, these images tell the story of who we were, and perhaps more importantly, who we have become as a result. Amores y semiodios
Tengo la piel del cuerpo seca y la de la cara es mixta con tendencia al acné. Decidí probar estos protectores solares, ya que uso productos que dejan mi piel fotosensible. Probé el protector solar corporal y me gustó. Tiene una consistencia bastante líquida, pero se esparce muy fácil. Se demora un poco para absorber, no deja una sensación pegajosa ni grasosa, pero se siente un poco pesado por un ratito. Inicialmente deja un olor algo fuerte e incómodo, que en un par de minutos desaparece. No me expongo directamente a la luz del sol casi nunca, pero no he notado ningún tipo de quemadura y oscurecimiento de la piel, por lo que creo que cumple con la protección solar. En general, me gustó el producto.
Otra historia es el protector solar facial. Tiene una consistencia tipo crema, se esparce fácil, no deja residuo blanco, no deja sensación grasosa o pesada. Se absorbe rápido. Pero luego de un par de usos, me brotó la piel del rostro. En cambio, a mi esposo que tiene piel seca en su carita, le ha servido mucho. No le ha generado ningún tipo de reacción adversa y su piel lo aceptó desde el primer momento. Luego de una semana de uso, no tiene ninguna queja al respecto.
En fin. Los productos son bastante buenos, pero yo, con mi tipo de piel, no usaría el protector solar facial.

So far we're loving it
Started using this about a month ago. The price for both was cheaper than just the face one at my local store so I decided to try them. I use it for me kids as well as myself and so far it's worked great. It doesn't have an overwhelming smell and doesn't leave a greasy film like some others. My kids used it and then we're outside swimming for about 2.5 hours. They got some color on their faces but we didn't reapply so I wasn't surprised. I was outside during that time too and didn't burn at all (I wasn't swimming) where I had applied it. So far I love it and will continue using.
