Description

Blackmagic Design Spares - Camera Studio Pro - PCB Main 6KThe Blackmagic Design Spares Camera Studio Pro PCB Main 6K is the core processing engine for the Blackmagic Studio Camera 6K Pro. This board is the most significant electronic component in the camera, as it handles the massive data throughput of the 6K sensor, the advanced color science, and the broadcast specific features like remote tally and talkback. Because the Studio 6K Pro is a specialized broadcast unit, this PCB is distinct from the Pocket 6K

The Blackmagic Design Spares - Camera Studio Pro - PCB Main 6K is the core processing engine for the Blackmagic Studio Camera 6K Pro. This board is the most significant electronic component in the camera, as it handles the massive data throughput of the 6K sensor, the advanced color science, and the broadcast-specific features like remote tally and talkback.

Because the Studio 6K Pro is a specialized broadcast unit, this PCB is distinct from the Pocket 6K or URSA series, featuring specific hardware for professional live production.

Core Responsibilities

The Main PCB serves as the command center for the following broadcast-critical functions:

  • Image Processing: Houses the FPGA that processes the 6K sensor data to deliver the "Generation 5" color science, optimized for live grading via an ATEM switcher.

  • Tally & Talkback Logic: Manages the communication signals coming through the SDI or Ethernet (PoE) ports to trigger the tally light and the 5-pin XLR headset system.

  • Connectivity Hub: Directly interfaces with the high-bandwidth ports, including 12G-SDI, 10G Ethernet, and the dual USB-C ports for external recording and focus/zoom demand.

  • ND Filter Control: In the Pro model, this PCB drives the motorized internal ND filters.

When to Replace the Main PCB

This is a high-level repair typically reserved for units that have suffered total system failure:

  • "Dead" Camera: The camera fails to power on via DC, XLR power, or PoE (Power over Ethernet), and the internal power cables have been ruled out.

  • SDI/HDMI Controller Failure: If the camera functions but cannot output a signal to a switcher, and the physical ports are not loose, the surface-mounted controller chips on the PCB are likely damaged.

  • Talkback/Audio Buzzing: If the 5-pin XLR talkback system develops a digital "hum" or fails to transmit audio while the headset is known-good.

  • Ethernet/PoE Failure: On the 6K Pro, the 10G Ethernet port is a common point of high-voltage intake; a surge via a network switch can fry the Ethernet controller on the Main PCB.

Key Features

  • Genuine OEM Part: Pre-configured for the 6K Studio sensor's specific timing and voltage requirements.

  • Broadcast Integration: Includes the hardware necessary for remote camera control (shutter, iris, color) via the SDI return feed or Ethernet.

  • Direct Mount I/O: Most of the professional connectors are soldered directly to this board to minimize signal latency.

Technical Installation Note

DANGER: Level 4 (Expert) Repair. The Studio Camera 6K Pro is physically large but internally very dense.

  1. Thermal Dissipation: Like all 6K models, the Studio Pro generates significant heat. You must apply fresh thermal paste or replace the specialized thermal pads between the processor and the internal heat-pipe assembly.

  2. Ribbon Cable Management: There are several long ribbon cables connecting the Main PCB to the 7-inch high-brightness screen and the side control panels. These are under slight tension and can easily snap if the chassis is opened too aggressively.

  3. Sensor Alignment: The Main PCB connects directly to the sensor block. During replacement, ensure the sensor remains perfectly parallel to the lens mount; even a slight tilt will cause "soft corners" in your image.

  4. Static Discharge: This board contains high-speed 10G and 12G data lanes that are extremely sensitive to ESD. Always use a grounded wrist strap and an anti-static workspace.

Expert Advice: If your 6K Studio Pro is acting up, check your PoE+ or PoE++ switch settings. Often, "board failures" are actually just the camera not receiving enough wattage from the network switch to power both the processing board and the 1,500-nit screen simultaneously. Always test with the dedicated 4-pin XLR DC power supply before concluding the Main PCB is dead.

Are you experiencing a total loss of power, or is the camera failing to be "seen" by your ATEM switcher via SDI or Ethernet?

Love them
Color: Pink & Beige, Size: Medium/Large(fits size 8 to 11)
I wear a size 11.5 in ladies shoe and these just barely fit. Butttt after I put lotion on my feet and slipped these on and left them on for about 30 mins. It left my feet really soft! They work great as intended. Would buy again

Effective but may be uncomfortable
Color: Pink & Beige, Size: Medium/Large(fits size 8 to 11)
I have eczema on my feet and use a prescription cream that I leave on overnight. I often have a problem sleeping in socks but the silicone feels cool on my feet. The only drawback I have is the opening of the socks feel very tight around my ankles making them uncomfortable on me. I wish the opening was a bit more flexible.

Burned my already sensitive feet, too big
Color: Pink & Beige, Size: Medium/Large(fits size 8 to 11)
Feels icky, and the heat gets trapped and literally felt like my feet were being burned by these. The bottoms of these feel prickly and they are way too big. You have to sit still and cannot walk in them.

Just as good as paraffin wax
Color: Pink & Beige, Size: Medium/Large(fits size 8 to 11)
I might prefer these socks over paraffin wax. They are comfy and very moisturizing. I use these socks once a week to keep the heels and soles of my feet moisturized between pedicures. I rinse with warm, soapy water then hang to dry. They are hard to walk in, but there's a saying printed in the socks that's says something to the effect of "take a break, stay off your feet" lol I love that as a reminder to put my feet up and relax

Love these!
Color: Pink & Beige, Size: Small(fits up to size 7)
Love these! As I write this review, I’m sitting in my recliner with these on. I have had other silicone socks in the past and would like to share a few of the things that I have learned. These fit great! The others were 2-3 sizes too big because you could not order a size. I wear a size 7 women’s shoe. I got the smaller size. I walked around my apartment in my old ones and they got kinda yucky. Now, I sit in my recliner, put them on and chill for a few hours. I now take them off and put in a ziplock bag so they stay nice and clean (no cat hair!). I use them once a week usually on Saturday or Sunday as I’m a working girl. Also, I use Auqaphor before I put them on and put cotton socks on after I’m finished. Your feet will be SO soft. This is not a one and done…I do this every week especially during sandal season! I know this was lengthy and I hope you got some tips.
