The Quick and Easy Giant Dahlia Quilt: Step-By-Step Instructions and Full-Size Templates for Four Quilt SizesSince its first known appearance in the 1935 issue of Needlecraft The Home Arts Magazine, the Giant Dahlia pattern has been a favorite among quilters. Since its first known appearance in the 1935 issue of Needlecraft -- The Home Arts Magazine, the Giant Dahlia pattern has been a favorite among quilters. A beautiful patchwork representation of the dahlia flower, this classic quilt was often judged too difficult for anyone but the most experienced quilter. Noted quilting teachers and authors Susan Murwin and Suzzy Payne rediscovered the Giant Dahlia in the late 1970s and determined to make it accessible to quilters of every degree of skill. This book is the culmination of their efforts: they have solved the drafting and sewing problems of the pattern and its border, presenting a simplified procedure for making a Giant Dahlia quilt in clear, concise language and 68 diagrams.
In addition to complete step-by-step instructions for piecing a Giant Dahlia quilt on the sewing machine, there are accurate full-size templates for four different-sized quilts. The authors also provide templates for the unusual scalloped border design, as well as metric conversion, yardage, and color-plan charts. Quilters everywhere will appreciate this opportunity to craft a classic quilt that is elegant and elaborate in appearance as well as fun and easy to make.

Love it!
Format: Paperback
My 6 year old LOVES this book! I read it to him every night that I know it by heart. He’s extremely fascinated by black holes, and It has really got him curious about cells and atoms.

2nd book if you have black light
Format: Hardcover
The book is ok, with the same plot as "there was an old lady who swallowed a fly" but there is a second book that goes back to front if you have a blacklight. Some of the pages were not printed well with the invisible ink but I really liked that second book better, as it explains the terminology like quarks and atoms. It is a fun book but having a black light is a must.

Great for space loving kids
Format: Hardcover
My son is super into space and planets and loved this book. It's funny and informative. My son was asking me what stuff was and why it was being eaten up. What makes it better is with a blue light in the dark you can read the book backwards as a whole new glow in the dark story!
