Omega Constellation De Luxe “Pie Pan” Ref. 2852 – 1958, 18K Yellow Gold

An icon of mid-century Swiss watchmaking, the Omega Constellation De Luxe Ref. 2852 represents the very pinnacle of Omega’s post-war chronometric excellence. Produced in 1956, this reference belongs to the golden age of the Constellation line—when Omega combined cutting-edge precision with luxurious execution reserved for its most discerning clientele.

This is not merely a Constellation; it is the De Luxe variant—distinguished by its solid gold dial, refined details, and elevated finishing—made in limited numbers and seldom encountered in such original, well-preserved condition.

Solid Gold “Pie Pan” Dial – The Hallmark of Excellence

At the heart of this watch lies its most defining feature: a solid 18K gold pie pan dial, a signature of the finest early Constellations. The twelve-faceted stepped dial catches the light beautifully, offering depth and character that flat dials simply cannot match.

Applied arrowhead indexes, also in solid gold, add both visual strength and elegance, while the original solid gold hands complete a harmonious and unmistakably luxurious composition. The dial remains original and untouched, preserving its crisp geometry and authentic vintage charm.

This is a dial that instantly communicates prestige, precision, and Omega’s obsession with detail.

Heavy 18K Yellow Gold Case – Timeless & Honest

The 35mm case is crafted entirely from solid 18K yellow gold, substantial and reassuring on the wrist. It retains excellent proportions and presence, with only light surface oxidation—an honest result of long-term storage in a safe rather than wear.

The caseback proudly features the Constellation Observatory medallion, symbolizing Omega’s dominance in chronometer competitions during the era. The overall condition speaks to careful ownership and originality rather than restoration.

An original Omega faceted crown remains in place, a detail often lost over time and highly valued by collectors.

Calibre 505 – Chronometer Pedigree

Powering the watch is the legendary Omega Calibre 505, a chronometer-rated automatic movement celebrated for its robustness, elegance, and long-term reliability. Fully serviced, it runs smoothly, keeps accurate time, and exemplifies Omega’s technical mastery of the 1950s.

This movement was among Omega’s finest automatic calibers of the period, designed specifically to meet stringent chronometer standards.

Why This Watch?

Early Constellation De Luxe models occupy a special place in Omega history. They represent the brand at its most ambitious—technically uncompromising, aesthetically refined, and unapologetically luxurious. Solid gold dials were reserved only for the most exclusive pieces, produced in far smaller numbers than standard Constellations.

This Ref. 2852 is an outstanding example: original, honest, mechanically sound, and visually striking. For the collector seeking a true mid-century icon—one that blends chronometric heritage with understated gold luxury—this Omega Constellation De Luxe stands as a benchmark reference and a cornerstone-worthy piece in any serious vintage collection.

Not worth it
Size: Mini
The orange clasp that locks it in place is super faulty on the one I received. It folds at any point when trying to throw the ball. Not sure if I just got a defective one but I wasn’t a fan. Would rather get one at a pet store just to play it safe

Not as sturdy as a regular one
Size: Mini
I was holding off writing a review about this because I wasn’t sure that it was going to hold up as well as a regular non bendable Chuck It wand. I have found I like the way it folds up and fits into my backpack nicely and also fits into my big purse when I’m out and about with my dog. You have to make sure the orange sleeve is over the screw part in the middle of the wand before you can throw the ball otherwise it’s not going to throw. It’s going to collapse. I’m not sure how long the durability is going to last that’s my only question about this product and I don’t know how long the screws on the elbow of it are gonna hold up but for now it’s been working great and we play with it every day and I’ve not had a problem with it. It’s just not as sturdy as a full size wand

Love this version of Chuck It beyond all before
Size: Mini
I had the longer bendable Chuck It before, well several, which broke down. They finally wouldn’t’ release the ball. Not disparaging Chuck It. They have been my furry puppy's favorite thing ever. I am grateful. But what I like and think is intuitive about this smaller design is 2 things: 1. I can do a more dynamic throw. 2. There are circle holes in the Chuck It Ball that come with it that I think allow for easier release and the ball can go father. Just my two cents.

Still Good to Use in a Pinch
Size: Mini
Love the Chuck it brand. This collapsible one is not my favorite. Everytime I chuck it, the orange lock does not stay in place. Plus, in my opinion, it doesn't have the oomph for the distance like the other medium ones. Still good though
