These quartz points are from HuangGangLiang, and commonly called Mongolian or Inner Mongolian quartz. This isn't your typically shiny quartz; the points have a matte luster with a sheen effect, producing a ghostly appearance. The tip of the main point is tinted a greenish-gray color by hedenbergite inclusions, while the rest of the point is more translucent.

Broken ends reveal the first generation of growth was an icy clear colorless quartz. A second generation of growth occurred, depositing a layer of frosty quartz on the surface. Spherical black inclusions stripe the points in fine lines. They are embedded into the surface, and dissolved crystals have left behind indentations. Looking closely, spheres appear to have a dark olive green color and almost metallic luster with radial growth. Calcite has grown in a cross-hatch of thin white blades that have also formed fine lines across the surface of the quartz.

UV reactivity The white calcite fluoresces moderately well under 365 nm UV light, glowing a peachy red. The calcite extends into the quartz as a thin layer and makes the tip glow when exposed to UV light (hard to photograph though!).
