We Believe...: A Journey Into Christ ConsciousnessAfter a profound spiritual experience at the age of nine, the author found clarity in some of what the church was teaching, while bringing into question other teachings of the church. Eleven years later, during a nuclear physics lecture, this spiritual experience coincided with what the instructor was teaching. We Believe A Journey into Christ Consciousness details the bridge that was formed between science and spirituality from those experiences.

After a profound spiritual experience at the age of nine, the author found clarity in some of what the church was teaching, while bringing into question other teachings of the church. Eleven years later, during a nuclear physics lecture, this spiritual experience coincided with what the instructor was teaching. We Believe… A Journey into Christ Consciousness details the bridge that was formed between science and spirituality from those experiences. Since that time, the author has researched religious history, looking for connections that would correlate modern science with what the ancient writers knew. This endeavor has brought clarity to much of what the church teaches, as well as serving as the basis to weed out misconceptions that have muddied up the waters. This book may serve the reader who is looking for connections between science and religion.

About the Author

Roy Bourque grew up in Massachusetts as a Roman Catholic. Having had spiritual experiences at an early age, he became intrigued by the controversy between science and religion. Upon graduation from high school, Roy enlisted in the US Navy where he was trained in the nuclear power field. He became an electrical operator on a ballistic missile submarine. Upon discharge from the Navy, Roy found a job as a control room operator at Norwich Public Utilities in the electric operations department. He would later become the control room supervisor managing the operation of the city’s electrical distribution system. In this capacity, Roy wrote training materials, equipment operating procedures, and instructions for dealing with customer service problems. While employed, Roy purchased a two-family home in Norwich, Connecticut. He upgraded the home, doing much of the repairs himself, with some help from his family. He still resides there today. He is married with two stepchildren In his spare time, Roy became a private pilot, took up photography, and became a lighting designer for local community theater. He also conducted research into religious history, mythology, Eastern philosophy, and mysticism. This led to his first book: The Merging of Two Worlds, which seeks to show the connections between science and religion. Later, Roy became a volunteer member in the Civil Air Patrol. He serves as an Aerospace Education Officer for cadets and is a Ground Team Leader in Search and Rescue exercises. His home base is in Groton, CT.

ESSENTIAL and Good for More Than Just Presentations
Format: Kindle
This is the second time I purchased this book. I had an older edition and decided to purchase the update. I'm glad I did, as this expands and improves upon the first edition. The book is absolutely essential for anyone putting together a presentation. Not only does it provide sound theories behind persuasion and storytelling, it makes the process dead-simple with an easy-to-follow template. And this template works for more than just presentations. The structure works for pretty much any content you're creating whether that's a presentation or a blog post or a video. Can't recommend this highly enough.

Follow the template
Format: Paperback
Not much different from the 2005 ed, which was good Version 4, it is practically verbatim. The only major change I can see is the Story Template changed all of the terminology and dropped Act III all together leaving it pretty much up to the reader to figure out how to close the presentation. I prefer the V.1 template over this one. Slicker paper and color photos, and the story boarding is more developed. Following the template is key to pulling the presentation off. A good portion of the book is still geared toward a Corporate audience with the assumption that the reader is an upper-level manager with a team of employees to do your work for you. Know what you are getting into. The creation of an effective 15 minute presentation can take hours for a solopreneur. I use the 45 minute format to create 15/20 minute training videos. I will recommend this book to anyone who creates and delivers PPT presentations, can focus and stick to the plan.
