These quartz points are from HuangGangLiang, and commonly called Mongolian or Inner Mongolian quartz. This isn't your typically shiny quartz crystal; this quartz cluster is the definition of pretty-ugly, aggressively dull on the surface with intriguing patterns of glittering crystal faces on its surface. The piece is near-opaque with inclusions, likely hedenbergite, which give it a slightly olive-gray tint.

The cluster is composed of a pair of longer intergrown points with several smaller ones fanning out from the base. All of the crystals have capped, or sceptered, growth where the tip has grown differently. The tips have whiter color, better translucency, and are larger than the rest of the crystal.

The quartz points also have small sprouting growth forms that have grown in parallel rows ringing the surface. They appear to be capped with clearer shiny crystal faces like the larger points, and create a pattern of rows of reflecting triangular point faces.
