This is the third album from Italian producer, Andrea Mangia aka Populous on Morr Music, with assistance from MC Short Stories aka Michael McGuire. Whereas Queue for Love (2005) curiously broadened the abstract-electronic foundations of his debut Quipo (2002) with the coordinates jazz, folk and especially soul (as an attitude as well as a sound), Drawn in Basic keeps your ears going in every direction. Andrea Mangia is captain and stowaway, songwriter and sound-bricoleur, with tracks that are tricky, polyphonic, and seconds later, four to the floor. Mangia is the type of person who fell in love with the feedbacking guitars of My Bloody Valentine equally as much he fell in love with the peculiar sounds of synthesizer pioneer, Raymond Scott. There are some peculiar synthesizers assembled on Drawn in Basic as well, not as a cool end in itself, but for their warm sounds. "Man Overboard" is a shoegazing melody, somewhere between indie-pop and disco. "Only Hope" is a charming hybrid of digital sounds and analog soul. "Days" piles up it's walls of sound higher and higher. Finally, "Breathes the Best" remains 2007's sparkling event, released as a vinyl single on a Number of Small Things, the little sister of Morr Music. This record is basic like the programming language of the same name, basic like the translation of analog pop music into a digital matrix, and basically beautiful.

Older flash drives might not work.
Port labels are too faint to read easily and the PD out port isn't labelled (I suppose they thought it was obvious since it has a fixed cable).
The USB ports are speedy except it won't recognize any of my several SanDisk Cruzer Glides. Others flash drives work okay.
Works great as an iPhone USB C to TV HDMI converter.

Essential USB-C Adapters That Just Work Perfectly

Works perfectly with MacBook
Bought these adapters after getting a wireless mouse for a MacBook and realizing the USB receiver couldn’t be connected directly because the Mac doesn’t have a regular USB port. These adapters solved the problem completely.

Very Well-Made and Works Great!
I have a Macbook Pro, and naturally, these computers don't come with USB ports to connect to. That's why I bought these adapters. I needed some high quality ones that I know will last me for a long time, and given that I own my Anker products, I figured these would be a great purchase.
And they are! These adapters are very well built. There's a bit of heft to them, and they feel very stable when plugged into my computer. There's no noise or distraction coming from them. You just plug it in and that's it. I have never once had any connectivity issues where the adapter, for whatever reason, stops working and I have to unplug it and then plug it back it. No, it works straight from the box and hasn't given me any issues.
These are great adapters because they're built very sturdy, will not cause any connectivity issues, and are nice if you want to use a mouse or connect a USB stick to your Macbook.
