Overview
The Supera Arc Flash Balaclava provides 360-degree head and neck protection from arc flash dangers when used with CAT 2 Arc Flash Face Shields. Made from two layers of Kermel-viscose blend material, this balaclava is NFPA 70E compliant to 16 Cal/cm². The inherent fire-resistant (FR) properties of Kermel® will not wash out, and the fibre is exceptionally soft, providing a comfortable feel next to the skin.
Caution: To meet the NFPA 70E requirements and provide full 360° protection inside the arc flash boundary, Arc Flash Balaclavas must be worn in combination with an Arc Flash face shield and appropriate ARC-rated clothing.
An arc flash is a dangerous release of energy caused by an electrical fault in the air, occurring from one phase to another phase or from one phase to the ground. The elements released during an arc flash event include intense light, sound, pressure, and extremely high temperatures.
