Este libro, concebido como un proyecto conjunto muy especial, reúne esa mirada íntima y cinematográfica con la que el fotógrafo supo traducir la elegancia de Dior en imágenes atemporales.

La propuesta central es tan extraordinaria como ambiciosa, setenta años de historia de Dior proyectados contra la efervescencia de Times Square, Nueva York. Para hacerlo posible, Dior tomó una decisión insólita y permitió que un número sin precedentes de sus prendas más valiosas salieran del depósito en París para viajar al otro lado del Atlántico. El resultado es eléctrico, Alek Wek luce el inmaculado traje de cóctel de 1947 en pleno frenesí urbano, mientras Saskia de Brauw, Karen Elson y Amber Valletta se mueven entre multitudes, andamios y reflejos, envueltas en alta costura, desde piezas cosidas a mano por Christian Dior hasta diseños más recientes de Maria Grazia Chiuri. El monocromo característico de Lindbergh y las fotografías en color capturan con maestría siluetas, texturas y complejidades de cada prenda.

Diseñada por su colaborador y amigo Juan Gatti, esta edición incluye 165 imágenes inéditas de una sesión de cuatro días, una introducción de Martin Harrison y una selección de más de 100 fotografías de creaciones Dior, desde alta costura hasta prêt-à-porter para hombre y mujer, publicadas originalmente en revistas como Vogue y Harper’s Bazaar. Versatile and decent size

I love little trays for random things. I saw this and had to get it. I ordered the black one. It came nicely packaged in a box that protected it from any damage during transport. It is approximately 8” x 8” x 1.6.” It is made of faux leather and MDF. It is supposedly water-resistant, but I have tested that. The interest in smooth, while the exterior walls have vertical ridges. The bottom is smooth. It’s heavy enough so it doesn’t side around. I have used it for numerous things: jewelry, pens and notepads, keys and sunglasses, perfume, medications, change, remotes, and change. It’s a handy and modern piece that could suit most people.
